Hi everyone! I'm getting my first Saddle bag in regular size in Latte. I'm debating whether I should get a strap for it. Initially I wasn't planning to purchase it right away, I was thinking I'll wear it as is for a few weeks/ months to understand whether I need the strap. But I know price increase is coming and I'm not sure if I should just get it now as $1200 is already a lot for a strap.
I would appreciate any advice and opinions on the looks, functionality, comfort etc. Thanks!!

I would suggest you buy now before the price increase, and you can try within 30 days right. So if you do not like it then return. If I get the saddle I definitely will get a strap because I mostly wear bag as crossbody.
Thank you for the response! It's a good point regarding the 30 day return, I might do that. Although I was thinking to wear the bag in spring/ summer since it's in Latte and also the strap that's attached to the bag is too short to wear with a coat or a puffer, which is probably another reason why I might need a strap... Oh decisions decisions :confused1:

How did you envision or want to wear the bag? If you're fine with it being a shoulder bag, you don't need the strap. If you want the crossbody option, you will need a longer strap. IMO, I think that's the key decision point, not the price increase.

if you are planning to wear your saddle regularly, 100% get the strap.

Thank you for the recommendation! Have you experienced that the original short strap is uncomfortable to wear? I would want to wear my Saddle often, but I also have many other bags that work crossbody. So if it's for style, I can always use those for a specific outfit that calls for crossbody... However, if the original short strap is uncomfortable to wear, I'd definitely get a strap.
If you already have the strap, could you please recommend which one is better to get - adjustable or thicker non-adjustable?

Thank you for the response! I was thinking to wear it on the shoulder, but I'm not sure if it's gonna be practical before I actually start using it. That's why my original plan was to not get the strap right away and see if I need it after a few weeks/ months of wear. I wish the original short strap was a little bit longer, I'm unable to comfortably wear it with a coat for example, but I also planned this to be my spring/ summer bag.

I actually tried out some strap in Dior boutique yesterday , those guitar strap are quite short as well, and not all strap are adjustable. I was trying to match it with a mini saddle bag .

I wish I had a boutique near me! Did you decide which one you'd get if any?
My SA shared these photos with me yesterday with both adjustable and non-adjustable options. It looks like both can be worn crossbody, but maybe the girls trying them on are very petit, I'm not sure...
The thicker strap is shown with a mini saddle, perhaps it'd be helpful for you to see in case you're boutique didn't have this strap.

I was trying to get the strap to match with men's mini saddle. (I found the men's mini saddle more practical). I definitely will get the adjustable one. The non-adjustable one is a ted too short IMO. I like the opening of my bag on my waist when I wear the bag crossbody, that way I found it easy to open the bag and grab my stuff. I don't wear the bag on shoulder (like the last pic). But at the end I don't get the strap because it's gold hardware but the mini saddle is silver ring. I end up get the Caro instead. My Caro is ruthenium logo so I doubt I will get strap as all straps I have seen are gold hardware...

Hopefully they release more straps with silver too, I'd like to get one for Lady Dior, mine is black with silver hardware.
I watched a couple of reviews recently and apparently there are a lot of problems with these straps, to summarize: 1) peeling along the edges, 2) the strap is rough on bare skin and is damaging clothes, 3) there are threads sticking out over time...
I'm thinking I'll pass on the strap, $1200 is too much to have all these issues and I'm not a fan of the look with the original short strap being in the middle as it's not removable.

FP and Yoogis both have the same silver hw strap right now for sale as an FYI. But it does look like the majority of straps have gold hw.

Also, I thought someone on here had a matching black hw strap for their ultramatte black saddle on here? I could be remembering wrong though. It was awhile ago.
