May I ask what are you going to use it for ? is it for work ?
do you carry lots of stuff ? or like me only the essentials ?

Keep in mind that a Birkin 30 is a more roomy k28 without a strap , So maybe your k28 will do the trick and you can buy a smaller bag instead.

finally , an Out of the box thought , from what I see in your signature you are "Patiently waiting to be offered a Kelly 25 in neutral color" .Can you ask your SA for a K25 instead ? will it hurt ?
I'll mainly use it for going out! So honestly I know the B25 will fit my essentials, whats holding me back is the top handle drop. I would love a K25, but in Canada, the wait is like 2 years wait and since my SA was able to offer me a bag this calendar year I'd love to pick something up! And I was eventually going to add a Birkin to my collection, the order is just reversed now and I hope to get a K25 down the road!

I think I'll just bring my K28 in when I go look at the 2 bags and see which one I end up picking up! Thank you for your input!

I would pick the B25 from your choices just because you already have a K28 (based on your avatar?). While a K28 doesn’t fit as much as a B30, it’s close and you got that part covered.

Yes I have a vintage K28 :) I just worry about the B25 top handle drop...but I think it's decided that I will go in and see them in person and/or take one of my bags out one of these days before I go pick it up and strictly use the top handle and see how well that goes haha

I voted for the B25 . I have 5 B 25's and love them all . Thou I love my Ks more, but I end up buying b25s here and there . If I was in a hurry I'd pick a togo b25 and run . I throw every thing inside it , grab my shoes and go. It is great for shopping , not fussy .But the small handles might annoy you sometimes . I have a rule that says " the perfect bag doesn't exist " . I hope you get the bag you want and a K25 down the road .

Thank you! I do find opening and closing the Kelly can also be a pain sometimes. And I think I agree with you that the perfect bag doesn’t exist as there’s always something we have to trade off for, such as practicality over design such as that I’d love to add a sellier Kelly to my collection one day but I can already imagine how much more annoying the stiffness would add to the already hard to opening and closing of this bag haha

Congrats on the fantastic offers. What a great dilemma to have! Both bags are classic combos (black with GHW is as timeless as it gets) and I agree with everything that has been said. Best to see them in person if possible and figure out which size works best for you. If you can fit your essentials into a Chanel mini than the B25 should easily fit your needs. I can pass my hand through the B25 handles and get it partly up my forearm and that is enough for me, but it can be awkward so sometimes it is easier to just hand carry it. Weight is also an issue as you have said. If you thought your friend’s B30 was heavy with barely anything in it, imagine how it would feel once you put more stuff in! A heavy bag in the crook of the arm is also uncomfortable and sometimes I end up hand carrying my B30 anyways if it is too full and heavy.

Please share what you end up getting!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I agree that maybe I might end up using the top handle and hold it rather than at the crook of my arms if it gets too tiring so maybe b30 won’t be right for me...I’m leaning towards b25, and have always been but I’ll know for sure once I see it in person! Will def share what I end up with!

What an amazing offer.
I would grab the B25 and run!!
The reason being, the B30 is very heavy. It is about 1 kilogram, so I found it to be too heavy even when it’s empty.
If you travel by car, and can put your bag down when you shop/go out, then i think a B30 is good.
If you don’t have a lot of stuff to carry around with you, I would take B25. Just make sure you check how far it goes up your arm. For me, it goes all the way up to the crook of my arm, so it’s not awkward to carry around.
All in all, team B25 all the way :)

Just out of curiosity what phone do you carry? I wonder if my iPhone MaxPro fits in the mini kelly! I actually don't carry much either as I've downsized a lot to fit in a Chanel mini since the new small bag trend came in so I'm sure the B25 will fit all my essentials, but the top handle drop...at least the mini K has a shoulder strap!

I have iphonexsmax.. it fits inside the mini k with a case when you put it at the back part. It’s just that these days I have to bring an extra mask in case one falls (clumsy issues), and a mini sanitizer. And once you remove it, you have to get everything out to bring it back.. comparing to a mini flap, mini k opening is smaller because of the shape and sangles unlike chanel’s rectangular or square shape.
Going back to your choices, whichever you choose is a winner. Try to consider which one you can make the most out of, the one which is gonna be more useful to you. the weight differs depending on the leather but keep in mind that generally full leather bags are really heavy. And even if you can put it in the crook of your arm, heavy remains heavy, at some point will definitely cause strain esp for long periods. I dunno if it is just me but at times k25 sellier epsom feels heavy to me.. Good luck! Or try to get both..

definitely B25! I don’t think the mini bag trend will ever really go away (might be an unpopular opinion here...) but plenty of people (myself included) who don’t carry much day to day. B25 actually fits a lot and like others have said, the only con is that it won't fit comfortably on the crook of your arm. B25 is the best size imo and even as big bags are making a comeback, i would choose a lighter bag over a heavier bag any day. B30s look great and all but not the most ideal bag to be running around all day in - it just gets way too heavy.

Agree, you have to see it in person and try it on. My B25 goes up to about slightly past midway of my forearm so I can arm carry it. Not as comfortable as carrying the B30 in the arm but it works.

My gf who owns both told me I should definitely go B25 because the B30 is surprisingly heavy. I’m SO glad I listened because I’m obsessed with my B25. The handles are not an issue for me, I’m still able to arm carry if I need to. It’s been such a great daily bag even during the pandemic because I just toss things in and go without having to fuss with flaps, clasps, etc. I don’t carry much with me so it’s the perfect size for me, small bag trend or not. Even the B25 in Togo leather has some surprising weight to it, so I’m glad I didn’t go for the B30. As someone else here said, take the B25 and run! Especially in such a classic combo! Show us the reveal whatever you decide! *Edit: I saw that you’re 5’5. I’m 5’6 and the bag is absolutely perfect for me.

I am very sensitive to weight of bags and my B30 doesn't bother me AT ALL. I have Togo and don't find it to be heavy but I don't carry much, either. I'm 5'2" and 115 pounds.
B30 is the quintessential size IMO so that gets my vote.

That said, you can't make a wrong choice here.

Congratulations on the amazing offers, I remember you asking about getting a store offer earlier this year, so glad you were able to get not just one, but two, so soon! I really don't think you can go wrong with either option. I love the B30 size personally as I have two small kids so I need to be able to slip it onto the crook if my arm if needed. I don't have a B25 but have held one and it is surprisingly roomy. I agree with your approach, I think try them on and bring your K28 to compare. Share pics and keep us posted!
