Depends on the definition of designer.
20 marked the year of my first Kate Spade
25 marked the year of my ferragamo, but just a wallet
29 marked the year of my first Balenciaga

My first 'premier' designer handbag was my Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM in Monogram. I purchased it in 2011 when I was 23. Ever since then my love for LV was only grown at an exponential rate. :p

I begged for a Coach wristlet for Christmas when I was 15, but I didn't buy anything of my own until my RM Mini MAC this year at 22. Now that I have one I keep finding more and more!

I forgot I got an overnight bag from the Kate Spade outlet two years ago (for a steal) but since I don't use that a lot I tend to forget about it. So that's my first purchase, but it wasn't that much more money than I would have spent on any bag like that (outlet+employee discount+sale season=cheap).

Let's see... I've slowly been accepting higher prices (funny how that happens!)..

First bag was a baby blue Michael Kors. Then Kate Spade, Lina Pelle, Burberry and now Chanel and Dior... :p Each time I swore I would never pay more than the bag I had just bought had cost for a handbag! Oops!

A Black Givenchy Pandora Bag is where the addiction began, I met this Chinese girl at Summer School with the most gorgeous bag and as I read the words Givenchy%2

I purchased my first designer handbag mid 2013 aged 39. I opted for the Louis Vuitton Bloomsbury PM via online and I really like it. It's functional and practical. I don't particularly take great care of it, I'm forever standing on it when I put it on the floor and it's normally the strap that takes the abuse. And I've only started storing it in the dustbag when I don't use it! I got the Emilie wallet for my 40th in November off my boyfriend in DE to match and now I'm thinking about purchasing the Odeon. Did toy with the idea of getting the Speedy 25 bandouliere but I think the odeon just about wins.

The Pink Murakami Cherry Blossom Pochette was what started my obsession (at 13, of course my parents refused that one, haha)

But my first designer bag (if you can call it that) was a Signature Demi by Coach. I got it when I was 14.

Contemporary: I had DKNYand Juicy Couture bags in my teens, one of those would have been my first and I must have got it around age 14/15.

Luxury: a Gucci bag my parents bought me for Christmas when I was 17.
