Finding Leather Type on Tag?

Can you find out what type of leather was used in a Chanel bag by looking at the tag? Or is there another way to look it up?

Not finding anything online or in the forums...

The leather & hardware type is part of the code. For example YO1588 is Classic Caviar Silver Hardware.Unless you know what the code means I don't think there is a way to know without asking SA or Chanel/seeing if the same bag is on the website. Of course sometimes it's mentioned if we get the lists for the season.

Hmmm. Looks like I'd have to ask. Is that info in their database that they can easily look up?
