Feeling Sad... Hangtag Fell Off Rogue

Thanks for the advice, ladies! I don't know how to tag everyone without quoting. I just called my local boutique and they said they'd call around to see if any other stores may have extra hang tags, but with it being a 1941 bag, they're not sure if there really would be much out there. I appreciate that they're going to make the effort. The sales associate on the phone empathized with me because she's also lost a hang tag off of one of her own bags! The next time I take out my black Rogue, I'm going to make sure it reinforce the clasp on it!

This happened to me the very first time i used my tea rose saddle bag - I was so disappointed that it fell off literally within the first 10 minutes of bag usage! I had purchased it at Saks, but took it into a Coach store to see if they had a replacement. They did not question where I purchased it. They did not have the 1941 tag, but they did provide me with a generic tag that they offered to emboss with my initials. It's not the same, but at least the bag doesn't look quite as "naked" without it, as you said. The embossing at least adds a little bit of a personal touch to it.

Check inside the bag, it may have flipped over into the bag before it fell off - that's happened to me! You can call Coach Customer Service and ask for a replacement. They usually send free generic metal hangtags that match the metal, rather than the unique hangtag for the Rogue - but you might get lucky. You can also ask an SA at your Coach store. They may not have extra 1941 tags but they will try to assist you. You can also notify lost and found at the facility where you noticed the loss, someone might find it.

It doesn't matter if you have a receipt. I like to rehab vintage Coach bags and I have asked for hangtags for bags that I bought at garage sales, thrift stores, and online, and no one ever questioned where I got the bag or asked for a receipt. After all, it could have been a gift! But sometimes it takes weeks or months for the replacement tag to arrive - that's why you might want to go to the Coach store and ask an SA for assistance.

I have lost hangtags and it really bums me out. Now when I am putting a bag back in it's dustbag for storage, I usually give the latch on the ball chain a couple of gentle squeezes with a needle-nosed pliers to try and make sure that it is secure. I don't know if it helps but it makes me feel better.

I hope that you find it!

I've ordered dogleash clips in various sizes and colors on the internet, they are not expensive and sometimes I use them to attach a keyring fob to a bag. The clip makes the attachment pretty secure and it is easy to attach and remove the fob. Here's a example of using a silver dogleash clip to attach the lion fob to my embellished putty Sophia bag

Any tips on where to get dogleash clips or the ball and chain connectors?

Walmart has ball chain and connectors in the ceiling fan department. Mine has it in gold, silver and gunmetal. It's in long pieces and you cut the length you want.( Can be cut with scissors.) Dog leash clips can be found in a variety of places, walmart, Michaels, hardware stores, but price wise, online is your best bet. I think someone on tpf found ones she liked on Amazon?

I like dogleash clips too, and they do make me feel more secure about them not going anywhere.

That's looks like the hangtag from a nomad or swagger, nicer than the cheaper ones that they usually send, but I feel your pain. Keep an eye on ebay, sometimes they show up there - at inflated prices - but you'd like your bag to be complete!

Just to update you all, this came in the mail today! It obviously doesn't replace the hang tag that I lost, but it was nice of them to send something out. My Beechwood Rogue is away in storage now, so I might put it on the next time I bring her out.

I think that you should get a really cool charm or fob and hang that on your bag instead of a hangtag. Something that you will enjoy and that won't make you sad to look at it!

I think that the black leather tea rose charm 65827 would look great on your beechwood rogue!

Yeah, it's a nice hang tag! I don't know if I'd buy one on Ebay but I might get a cute charm just for my Beechwood bag!

Highly unrelated, but I am LOVING the slouch your Rogue has. How long have you had it?

Thank you! I bought it in February and carried it up until July. Then I brought it back out last week. So it got about 6 months of regular use. I don't carry a ton in it, so it didn't take long to start slouching.

And do they get softer?

It does feel a bit softer now that it's less structured.

I think I may do that! I actually have the metal tea rose charm but I only like it on my black rogue, so I'll have to find something special just for my beechwood rogue

I use cable locks (like the ones that attach price tags to merchandise with). You can get a large quantity in both clear and black from Amazon for cheap.
That's interesting. I looked at them on Amazon and other sites but there are so many options! Can you post a pic(s) showing the fasteners that you use and how they look? TIA!
