Maybe an unpopular opinion but I feel like there are YTers who will still purchase from Chanel because it's still considered one of the Top 3 prestigious brands in luxury fashion. I think this particularly pertains to the YTers who have created a brand/image for themselves being Chanel/Hermes-lovers and who now have audiences that expect that.

If the above is true, I would expect these YTers to continue unboxing Chanel because it's just so hard to consistently get handbags and other items from Hermes. Of course for FJ, watches, etc. there are so many other brands they would probably unbox, as well (e.g. Cartier, Rolex).

Being outpriced is definitely a reason, I agree with that. Also I think that people who’s still able to purchase from Chanel could be rather reluctant to post in the current economy.
It’s very normal in luxury community to be able to unbox. What’s not normal is to bash people’s bags (luxury YouTubers wannabes ) when same people have been priced out

I also used to watch colorful noir too. She is more pleasant and sincere than catwalk city. But at the end of the day, it is business for her. Her ads or sponsorship are skillshare and a jewelry brand I already forgot.

The thing is we expect them to be honest and authentic but I think most vloggers are not because it is a job for them.

I noticed that I usually get interested with new vloggers but never for long because soon you discover their true motives.

I also used to watch catwalk city. Lately, she has been saying she is not going to buy more chanel and she is open with exploring unknown or newcomer brands, seemingly inviting sponsorships or ads

It seems that she has a hidden agenda with every vlog.
I watched her when she first started her channel and I really liked her. But a few years in her videos became about unboxings and why she let something go and then I stopped watching

I recently stumbled across one of her videos about if she had to part with her Chanel bags, which ones or something like that. The video seemed kind of pointless. She also did a follow up video as well. It seems like she is digging around for content.

Her parting photos seem like feeler video for me: hey get this Chanel bag so I can get a QB

I think this video is for hello catwalk city to know how many are willing to buy them and for how much.

Her last video giving all praises to her gifted polene bags was just to invite other new brands to promote in her channel. I really don’t trust her. All her moves seems to be calculated.

Same here . It has been a rollercoaster of contradicting thoughts and videos from the concept of minimalism to hoarding & reselling .. from admiring from afar to shopping contents. It’s all for views, gram and clout

Yep, no wonder people are doubting if she really lives in manhattan, absolutely debt free, owns several apartments and truly successful because of her inconsistency.

Her videos are always, "I hate Chanel", "Chanel can't keep doing this", and "Unboxing a new Chanel bag". Like please make up your mind. Also her videos are always so preachy. I recently watched a video and it was basically philosophizing on why she deserves her Chanel bags due to her healthy income or being hardworking or whatever. Reminded of why I stopped watching in the first place.

I just can't stand the hand movements and the way that she sounds like she's running a lecture in each of her videos Call me sensitive but whenever I feel like a YouTuber is trying to tell me what to do (as opposed to framing their content around what works for them) or has a patronizing undertone in their voice -- click! I'm noticing many luxury youtubers are now rejecting or blackpilling certain luxury brands. I don't know if they have been shaded by their sales associates or its the recession but noticing this trend.

It's also just a trend. There's also a similar 'deinfluencing' trend.

It's got nothing to do with Chanel, luxury or anything else, it's just about the influencers/content creators trying to keep-up with cultural SM trends that often started via other platforms like TT and Insta.

Badmouthing and blackpilling Chanel (or any other major lux brand) is just part of the general fashionable/cultural trend and was bound to happen as part of the backlash against lux products and lifestyle that influencers/CCs jumped on for a hot mo.

It's interesting to me, that all these people with opinions change their minds quicker than they change their socks. If I love something (or someone) it's a commitment for life, but I don't expect it/them to magically transform my life into a an edited highlights Chanel advertisement either. It's just lame ol' me with a Chanel bag.

They also badmouth the luxury brand and promote the cheaper alternative brand which they have a deal with. Get their commission, then buy the luxury brand for themselves.
Yes I notice that with LV a lot. They say don't buy LV slgs buy this random sponsorship brand you've never heard of. It's another form of de-influencing but still influencing With the recession I think this is going to continue to happen.
