I only have one black bag (I wear a lot of brown so I almost never have a use for a black one!) but it's a Coach Soho Braided Flap (the strap is braided leather) with silver hardware. It's signature but since it's black on black it's very subtle and it's roomy without being huge. It just looks really nice.

I honestly didn't think I would like it so much until I used it!!

Can you believe that thinking about it right now the only ALL black handbag I own is a RM Morning After in black weave...next would be my Fendi B Mix large tote but this is a combination of black and zucca canvas.

I was trying to stay away from "black" (since it's always the easy color) that I think I over did it...

Hi fellow Duranie- I own that bag and it IS my favorite bag. If I had to leave a burning apt and only take 1 bag, that would be it. I LOVE my large black MJ multipocket!

Hello TPFers! I did a search, but only found "favorite bag" threads. Anyway, I don't own a black bag *gasp* ! Most of my purses are nuetral, but there is something about a black bag... Currently I want a balenciaga twiggy, but I am not sure. To get some inspiration, I am dying to know, what is YOUR favorite black bag?

I totally get where you're coming from! There was a time when almost all my bags were black. Then I discovered color and started feeling black was too stark for me. I'm now down to 3 black bags and my favorite is the Lanvin Amalia MM.

I actually purchased a black Chanel classic jumbo flap in caviar ages ago and also a black Balenciaga twiggy in my quest for THE perfect black bag but realized neither was perfect for me (I prefer the Jumbo in lambskin and in other colors and decided the Twiggy was not the shape for me). I prefer the Giant Covered Metro to the Twiggy, and though I think it looks awesome in color (I have it in Raisin), it looks great in black as well.
