My fave classic black bag is my Coach Gramercy limited edition kelly bag! Too bad I didn't treat it too well ... it's not in perfect condition. It's about 7 yrs old.

My favourite is my black Mulberry Helier. It's 13 years old but still looks great. Classic leather and classic shape. You can't beat Mulberry for superb quality and timeless looks.

OK I will apologize in advance because I know many people are not going to think classic fits with this...but the Kooba Sienna (bear with me here!) in the black smooth leather is a gorgeous black bag. I agree that it is a little western in other colours but in black it is really a stunning bag, won't be dated at any time and gets tons of compliments. Not classic along Chanel lines but for a great classic black leather day bag it works for me!
