So, I bought the Rogue in mineral, but now I am having 2nd thoughts.

Here's my dilemma, when carried by the longer straps, the short handles are attached in a way that if you fold them outwards the pull down on the leather causing a crease because of the bag design.

Also, since the handles are attached with hardware (screws, plating, etc.) I am concerned that the leather will tear over time due to the weight of the short handles.

The alternative is to fold them inward so they rest on top of the bag but that is kind of bulky. I haven't tried folding the all the way inward (since I just thought of it! And, I am on vacation for a few days) but will give that a try.

Anyone thoughts from those of you who have a Rogue?

Like Jane said, the small handles fit perfectly inside the suede pockets :smile1:

Same here, I think this bag needs sunshine. :)

I'm very excited I got one, the only problem is that now I might need another when fall rolls around!

Edited to add: I emailed CS again out of curiosity, aaaaannd

At this time we are showing 0 available of style 38497.

They're gone!!

I guess it shouldn't surprise me they're gone (especially dropping from 30+ to 9 in a matter of hours).... I guess for many, that 30% made it hard to resist.

I'm with you.... I need another! Now! As much as I want a green or the olive, I don't want to wait. And we're due for buckets of rain. So says El Nino. So off to the big city I go in the next few days (rain, rain, go away) - and I think with my "adjustment" I'll get the black rogue:smile1:. It doesn't seem so painful when the numbers are on paper (the $420 difference).

Yes, you "need" another!!!

I know not to rely on online pictures as they could just be prototypes, but I've enlarged the pictures on Nordstom's site and the interior pockets on the suede Rogue look like smooth leather. I guess we'll find out soon enough, though. I'm also glad the bottom is pebbled leather.

I believe it is smooth leather. The pictures on the Coach site look that way, too.

I noticed that too...it looks to be smooth leather on both coach.com and Nordstrom 😉

I assumed that this reversal of the materials is because the outer layer of the bag is made of pieces of thick hide, which is always suede on one face and 'leather' on the other, unless the hair is left on and you then have 'haircalf' or shearling on one side and suede on the other. So on the 'leather' bags, the suede side is inward and on the suede bags it faces outward. This is similar to the most recent Burberry Alchester bags, although their layers were more of a 'hidden' feature, and they did not have tote handles attached inside the outer layers.

Good point! Makes sense to me....

Thank you for the explanation. I've been very curious about that as I'd spoken to a Coach sales associated and was told the interior was also suede, but when I mentioned the online picture he did admit he'd only seen it at a company event and his store didn't carry the bag and wasn't entirely sure. I will assume it's leather also.
