"Fake" Serial nmbr, but, Genuine Bag ???

Just curious (and trying to avoid the housework) - as we all know, there is a (far too big !) list of "dodgy" serial numbers for Mulberry bags but, it is likely that at least some of the numbers, did once belong to an authentic bag ? ..

One such bag recently appeared / sold on Fleabay (number on the fakes list but bag itself authenticated as genuine) which started me wondering, does anyone have a genuine bag that (unfortunately) also has a serial which is on the "fakes" list ??

Aside from sheer curiosity, it might be useful to know for reference purposes ??? xx's

I think almost certainly there are bags from which the serial numbers have been copied. I have seen 026903 which is one away from the most commonly used one. However, of the thousands of Mulberry items produced with a serial number, finding who owns the genuine articles, would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, I think!
