KLP and I have been discussing the fading to our Mulberry bags in the chat thread and it was suggested we open a new thread to discuss more. I now know of three bags that have experienced colour change - denim mabel (mine) and two fuschia bays. From "talking" to KLP it seems to be the blueish tones that are fading from her bag and mine is obviously blue so I wonder if it is just limited to these colours or is anyone else experiencing colour change with other coloured bags?

Hmm I haven't noticed it on my denim mabel, but then if it's fading uniformly across the bag I guess I might not notice. I'll have a check when I get home, but can't say I've noticed fading on any of my bags....yet!

mssw, your fuchsia Bays is made of tumbled leather right? Mine and Linnea's are made of buffalo leather, maybe that's part of the reason for the loss of blue pigment. :shrugs:

^^^klp, just had a look at the carecard and it said: soft grain tumbled, so yes! Maybe it has to do with the type of leather?? But to be honest, I'm using it for the third day in a row today and before that I used it for approx. 2-3 in a row. Nothing in between, so it hasn't had much use. It defo has a bluish tint to the pink.

O/T - hope you're feeling better today. :hugs:

^^I have used my Bays quite a lot more than that, but never left it sitting in the sun. Maybe the air reacts with the blue pigment and makes it break down faster. :thinkin:

Thanks, still feeling crappy.

Yep, my Magenta Hanover has lost all of its "blue tone" completely its now a "pretty

pink" colour. Will try and post some pictures later on.

^^ Jenova, I remember you mentioned AG Plum had beautiful purple shage to start with. Have you got any photo from your AG Plum Roxy before & after the fading??

My balenciaga first was a really rich dark almost chocolate shade when I bought it, but now its faded to a light brown, oak type colour, I've used it every other day since June though! I did expect it to happen, I deliberately picked the darkest one out of the three that were there!

Sorry no before pics. I wouldn't like to state that this colour change was due to lost blue with any surety. I suspect that it could have got browner (hence redder) as the overall colour of the bag actually got darker.

Hahaha - wait until you get a Black one. Selfridges sold me my 'Black' Day at 50% reduction because it was already dark green when they got it. It is steadily getting greener but at least it isn't that nasty grey that some of the bags go.

PS - green is my favourite colour so this was quite a lucky break for me.
