I think they might be made with inferior (or lack of a better word) materials but they are NOT fakes.

So would a boutique bag that was bought at an outlet be fake as well? Yeah, she's clueless, and just trying to look good for the boyfriend. That's hilarious that she had a fake LV wallet though.
Eric sure knows how to pick them huh? Funny that she criticizes you over a bag that isn't by any means fake and then pulls out a fake LV wallet. I think I would have slapped her upside the head with my REAL Coach bag!
ITA! I definitely would have asked her about her wallet. Poor Eric, maybe he didn't know she was that dumb?
That is just plain ignorant! My sister just got one of those factory Legacy totes - its light tan signature w/dark brown leather - she wanted something that could be used as a diaper bag, but also stylish and keep her stuff in as well. Its adorable!!! And I dont really buy factory bags or signature bags, just cause when I hit the outlet its usually to track down a recently-deleted boutique bag, but I would never say anything to her about it being a "lesser" Coach. I told her I loved it, it was perfect for her and it is! Then she went back and got a matching wallet - haha I think I created a monster!! That Ali is adorable - you enjoy it!!
