hello everyone! sorry i haven't post much, since i try to educate myself in the brand before posting questions. i luv Balenciaga since forever and now seeking to buy a second Bal (my first bal is the 'First' in black...)
i love love the gris tarmac when i saw the pics, but all this talk that the new leather isn't that great
should i give up gris tarmac and look for a past year bag instead?? i'm so torn, i don't want to spend $$$ on cheaper quality.

We will be launching a NEW MINI CITY handbag at the beginning of September 2012. It will be available in limited quantities and limited colors. Here are some of the details:

· Only Classic hardware is available,
· Long strap for cross-body/messenger use,

hope i don't offend anyone here, but just to share:
saw in our local store a cassis city rh the distressing on the leather of which felt... stamped-on, like it wasn't leather even!!!... didn't have anything to compare it with since the store's stock is very limited and as far as my collection is concerned, I only have 2 from 09, 1 from 10 and 1 from 11
I've read stories about how the quality/type of leather changed for 2012... I have a ss12 dark night from the men's line (medium clip) and I now understand what some had said about the leather being plasticky... although my dark night is less plasticky in a sense that it has some gloss in it, but that cassis city? gosh... I hope (and believe) it was just that particular bag as I am looking forward to one more bbag before i stop (don't we all say that

It's one of the new F/W 2012 colours 
I've been mulling over searching out a new cassis city, but have heard mixed reviews. A muted burgundy sounds perfect to me, and I love lots of veins and distressing for a vintage-y look...anyone have any opinions on or pics of a distressed 2012 cassis?
These are a vast improvement from the first batch found at Holts. I can't imagine that anybody bought the earlier Mangue bags though and I truly wonder if perhaps they weren't shipped back to Balenciaga? They were THAT thin, dry with blotchy dye job 
I knew right away that my little BB camera was not capturing the colour accurately but oh well. The lighting & the even my BB camera gives the bags a cooler tone but irl, it's warmer but not by a lot...imho there's not much orange as in *orange-yellow* it's still true yellow...maybe like a sunflower? I, personally, would prefer a Ripe Mango shade

Hey Honeylicious! A couple pages back (#67), there was discussion about bluete=crocus. Don't know if this has been confirmed for sure yet...
It's SUPER cute, but whoa... that's a pretty big price tag for such a dinky little bag!
