Hmm, I know that a lot of people have reported fading issus with some colours from previous seasons- is it possible that the 'shiny' finish of the new season bags is a result of them treating the leather with something to prevent fading??

Despite the name, in the photos it did not look the least bit brown to my eyes.
I was thinking the same thing. There are so many complaints/quibbles posted about Bal bags (fades, handles soften, etc). But we like the drapey, smooshy leather! What is Bal to do? I think they stiffened the handles a bit (which is now being called "dry" by some people - although dryness/roughness is clearly a problem in some bags), and they have more of whatever that shiny coating is. I am always torn as to whether I want that coating to wear off (my favorite bag is actually one where it's entirely gone, so I guess I have my answer) or whether I want the bag to look brand new (for some occasions, yes, so more reasons for more bags!)
What is the difference btwn 2007 and current anthras?
I need a grey bag. What would you suggest?
Get an anthra before it exceeds or wait for gris tarmac? TIA

Could you please tell me if from the pics you've seen you found a color resembling Outremer? I am desperately trying to find a blue like that with no luck. I already have Dark Night and Atlantique, Blue Cobalt was quite close to Atlantique so I need a more pop color like Outremer or French Blue ... I am willing to wait for F/W as I have already made the mistake of buying in a hurry and regretting it later on.

Hey *Cat* .. yeah, Outremer was a very special color; it's really the Blue that got me looking at other Bal "blues". I do not recall a swatch/bag having the same color as Outremer. Unfortunately, you'll likely have to scour the *Bay, Bonz .. or try one of the consignment houses. Good luck!
Thank you so much for answering CeeJay. It is difficult to buy a bag from Bonanza (not to mention sell) anyway because of VAT. I live in Greece so that would make the bag very expensive. Some come up to prices higher than the new ones here in Europe. Anyway, I will keep on looking in case I find someone selling from Europe.

I've been looking out to buy a new Balenciaga since 2005 after I bought my cinnamon bag. None of the colors have particularly grabbed me until I heard the descriptions of the F/W 2012 bags. When will they be released or when are we going to get swatch pics?!

I would be REALLY GRATEFUL if someone could help me with two questions I have (I don't follow Balenciaga much and I am confused)!!
1) So now there is only regular hardware and the mini giant hardware (G12)? Whereas in previous collections there was RH and GH?
2) Can you tell me what is the last season that Balenciaga released GH? F/W 2011 or S/S 2011?

balenciaga made the gh in gold and silver from 2007 to 2009, in rose gold and silver in 2010 and 2011, and g12 this year
