Eyeliner in the ads vs how it looks on me...

Eyeliner and smokey eyes are all the rage these days and I've been experimenting with limited success.

This is how it looks in the ad:


And this is how I think it looks on me...


Nonetheless, I'll keep trying!

Haha, so much depends on eye shape, whether you have hooded eyes etc. Look for beauty videos on youtube by someone who has a similar eyeshape.

Saaaame. Except my actual liner is way more uneven and wobbly, that second bird has a pretty even line going on! Shadow I can do. Liner, nope!

Maybe I'm not the only one that practices with liquid eyeliner at the end of the day because I know it's going to look uneven and awful and I can wash it off right away [emoji848]

I do this sometimes.....right before I remove all my makeup and wash my face, I will sometimes take out the eyeliner and play (practice, LOL). And sometimes it comes out soooo good! Then when I try it again in the morning I can't get it that good again.

I always thought they should offer a hair and makeup class in high school. Like in addition to home ec, offer "Beauty/Grooming". And teach girls how to.

This was an attempt back in October when my Sephora addiction just started. I actually thought I looked good in the mirror but the photo says otherwise. I think nice brushes and blending really clean up the look.

When I took this photo, I didn’t know what a crease brush or a blending brush were. I may have used just one brush and didn’t know that blending is good.
