Yes, it is a slippery slope.
Started with Coach some years back, moved to Chanel, some LV...then to Hermes. Now have 2 birkins and a Kelly, 3 wallets, oh, it does not stop.

My husband and I were talking last night about my Dooneys, Coaches, and Michael Kors and he said the Dooneys, Coaches and Michael Kors are like gateway purses. It's so true!!

If you feel the need to hide your bag or lie to your friends and family about the price, then why buy it? You're taking all of the joy out of owning an expensive handbag.
If you're spending $300-$400 every 3 months or so, then you're spending about $1200-$1500 a year on handbags. How about instead of buying a new bag each quarter, you buy just one, more expensive bag. Ultimately, you're not getting as many bags, but you're getting one bag at the same spending level. Oh, and just FYI, buying handbags is a slippery slope. It becomes easier and easier to justify the higher price tags with each purchase. I used to try and keep things under $1000, then $1500, and now getting one around $2000 is a steal (I only buy Chanel).
Congrats on your new tote. It looks lovely!

What a great DH you have! You look great with your bag and I love how excited you are. It is worth it to get something you really, really want, right? Congrats!

I'm dying to find out if you purchased it. What I do with DH is place the order, sneak it into my closet and casually wear it. He's clueless. He has no idea one from another. When the bill arrives, I put a check in and mail it or if it is on a charge, I put a partial payment, therefore, next billing period, hopefully purchase wont show up. - I don't think I'm a good influence for you!!! I'm a bagaholic! I live for gorgeous leather bags! Truth be told - due to funds, I don't have as many as I look at :D Simply meant, I tend to look at the bag over and over but don't buy them. If they go on sale, I do a once over and if I really really have to have it, it's mine!! :happydance:

Well, just go longer between buying bags if you want the Totally. You could either have 3 $300-400 bags or this 1 $970 bag. If you get bored, just pull out one of your other bags you already own but haven't carried in awhile, it will feel new again. Also, do you work for your own money? If so, you really don't need to explain anything to your husband, I'm sure he spends money on frivolous things he wants.

If the bag is singing to you, go for it. You'll never be happy until you have it. LV is classic and well made. They hold their value and they just make you feel good!!!! Since you buy a new bag about every three months anyway, just tell your husband you'll hold off from buying another bag for a while. Good luck and enjoy your new LV!!

P.S. Please, don't ever say you're carrying a fake! That's a real no-no.

I have an update to this story. I went out last night and bought the Palermo PM without talking to my husband first this time. He was a little upset, but he got over it. I just had to buy another one! Now I can alternate depending on my mood. Hmmm, I have so many moods to keep up with. . . what will be next? I love the versatility of this bag. I'm showing you over the shoulder, cross body and top handle options. Please ignore my bedtime attire and messy room.

I wouldn't lie to your hubby just be honest and hopefully he will understand! I am lucky my dh understands my addiction...although sometimes he might mention something when he notices me buying a few too many bags! :D

IMO, a LV is worth it! The canvas material is very durable! If you ever need the leather trim replaced (in the future) the boutique can do that for you for a set price! My grandma has LV's that she purchased 15+ years ago and she still uses them!
