It's true, but I also don't intend to keep buying bags forever (who am I kidding here?) and I'd like to collect the ones that I love and have use for. So for an evening bag, I think it will be black for me, for ease of use and versatility.

you know what? me, too! i know, it sounds lame, but i really hope to achieve this, and i hope you can, too ;)

someone snagged the origan twiggy! is it you? i was so so tempted, i must confess.

i voted first... but in your case it looks like u prefer bigger bags.. so a twiggy would be perfect for you!
it slouches and looks smaller when its not full and u can definitely manage to fit a light sweater in there too!

I'd love a first because it is such a classic bag and looks just perfect for a night out. But the twiggy sounds like a good option too.

I haven't decided yet, perhaps I should just go for a first and use a city if I need more room ... Sometimes it's nice not to take the kitchen sink!

 if this helps... a first DEFINITELY fits more than it seems!

I have to say that although I totally prefer big bags - nothing smaller than City size for the most part, a few years ago I bought this great black clutch at Saks (non Bal - I know "horrors", but I just discovered Bal) and I use it more than I ever thought I would - it can go casual or more dressy and is a great bag to take going out although my totally insane clubbing days are pretty much gone - takes too long to recover;) It's also super easy to pack for travel and gives me an option having a smaller bag so I don't have to lug my big one around to out of work things. I totally want a flap clutch now, but am going to get a bright color since I live in black.

Does your clutch have a strap option?

Thanks, ladies! I keep trying to "part" with my YSL Muse in Chocolate brown but I get a bit of separation anxiety each time and always think "it's a bit dressier than my Citys" and end up keeping it but not using it. I really just LOVE the style, weight and functionality of B-bags more. I guess the First (I have one in white - would probably do another color but NOT until 2008!) or the Oval Clutch would make good choices for me... I have yet to see an oval clutch IRL but the photos I've seen posted here are so pretty!

^^No don't! I love my Chocolate YSL Muse - it's one of the FEW non-bbags I have and love.

on topic: I love my makeup clutch or balenciaga shoulders (the makeup with the strap) for an evening out.

I've used my EB Giant Env. Clutch as an evening bag several times, but not sure if I'd take it to a concert - I'd want something that I could put on my shoulder for that - I usually take a non-Bal to concerts, festivals, etc.

Well i have an ivory mini, though i haven't found the perfect occasion to carry her out yet, i wouldn't take her clubbing. Possibly just for dinner if it's a casual night out!

I wouldn't take any of the other b bags out for an evening function though, actually it depends on what it is if it's just a normal dinner then yes.
