Interesting that the Queen was related to the royal family of Denmark via her first cousin Anne Ferelith Fenella Bowes Lyon ( the mother of Patrick Lichfield ) - she married twice the second time to a prince of Denmark - two of her sisters were the unfortunate Nerissa and Katherine - deemed mentally impaired and institutionalised for most of their lives - the fickle finger of fate

Why does everyone assume he is paying his kids in secret? They're his kids, why wouldn't he take care of them? Maybe Charlene knows and is ok with it. I don't care enough to pay attention to the whole tax mess but it also annoys me people still repeat stuff about sad Charlene trying to escape. She has a sad resting face and is shy. She's tried to put a stop to the gossip several times but no-one listens to her and the scandal press picks the photos where she doesn't smile. How many couples look blissfully happy all the time anyway? She would have had multiple opportunities to leave him but decided to stay. I dunno, it just annoys me the press decided early on that this couple is doomed.

It is in the open NOW. He paid the first one in secret and the son‘s mother had to sue him for Child support and to be recognized.
Charlene did not know until she had already agreed to wed him and signed the contact of marriage.
I don’t know her but I would gather as with all the Grimaldi, he is a cheater and difficult to deal with.
Monaco is a fish bowl.
Princesse Grace was not accepted for the longest time. I can’t imagine what it is like for Charlene with real life gossip, magazines and the internet on top of all.
I agree with you that she looks well right now. And seems to have recover from her African troubles.

I get a bit teary-eyed seeing poor John Donaldson in such a fragile state... He reminds me of my own late dad. I always remember him walking his daughter down the aisle.

And the speech he gave at their wedding... A proud Scottish dad but also a proud Australian. I don't believe the evil gossip about Mary not being close to his dad, clearly they care about each other.



I heard recently that he was in bad health and unable to travel to Denmark. I forget where he lives these days (France?) but currently he is in Australia with his three other children and I fear that's where he'll stay.

Maybe I should just stop posting here about this topic if it annoys people too much? I do know a few places where we can move the discussion in that case. If anyone is interested in this then pm me. Otherwise, do let me know if this topic should die a quiet death. I'm guessing most of the people here are from U.S. so I can understand it's not a very attractive topic anyway.

Another solution I can think of is to put all these aristothreads under another section/folder in the Celebrity area so anyone who doesn't care for them doesn't have to run into them.

Eta, on the other side of the coin, speaking as a Brit, there are lots of threads in the Celebrity area about people who are only famous in America. I haven't heard of half of them tbh so I obviously don't participate.

I like this thread. I’m from the US but enjoy the EuroRoyal gossip and info, and this one condenses nicely since they’re a little less active than the BRF.

I think we can mute threads we don’t like to see so that’s a possibility for folks who wish not to see it?

Exactly this, I have no idea who most of the American celebs are: I just don't open their threads.

They can do that by ignoring the thread so feel free to post anyone who doesn’t like it can scroll on or hit ignore
