My French Cartier SA once told me his colleague can ALWAYS tell apart American women from French women or other nationalities. I asked why? Different sense of style? French girls are more je ne sais quoi? He said, "Nope. By their teeth. American girls have perfect white teeth for the most part. Europeans, not so much!"That's what decades of heavy smoking will do to ya... Happy to hear she quit a few years ago though. I hope she is well, I've feared for years she'll get lung cancer.
Funnily enough the teeth don't bother me that much, I see a lot less abnormally bright white teeth so I guess I don't pay attention unless someone has really rotten teeth, lolThe eye bothers me more but I try not to pay attention... I mean, she's had severe strabismus even as a young woman but it's more pronounced these days.
I hope Mary will learn to be more humble when she becomes queen. It has always annoyed me how self-satisfied or even smug she seems.
I will say there is a middle ground between the American way of doing teeth and teeth that stained, particularly in a person with that much money. Yes, most Europeans do not have fluorescent white teeth, but also most Europeans who take care of themselves would not be caught dead with what the former queen is sporting.

He is! I'd go as far as saying King Frederik is surprisingly short considering his family.
Cannot be sure of this but they say Christian is 190cm tall (6'3").
Here's the rest of their heights as far as I can find them, not sure if these are completely accurate but just about:
Fred is 183cm (6') and Mary is said to be 172cm (5'8").
Joachim 188cm (6'2") and Joachim's older sons Nikolai and Felix are 184cm (6'0.5") and 178cm (5'10", well, their mom is quite short).
I think Marge in her prime was 182cm (5'11.5") and Prince Henrik was somewhere between 185cm and 190cm (6'1" to 6'3").
Marge's father, King Frederik IX was 198cm tall (6'6") and her grandfather King Christian X was 202cm (6'7.5")!

I wish I had seen Queen Margarethe's furs before she stepped down. I have seen about four in the past week and each has been more stunning than the last.
Just saw in passing a posting on Instagram showcasing a piece of jewelry that was gifted to a member of to the Norwegian royal family by Queen Victoria. It was inherited by Princess Astrid (sister of the current king) and was given to Princess Ingrid Alexandra on her 18th birthday. The collection of pictures showed only one picture of Ingrid Alexandra wearing it, but multiple of Mette Marit on different occasions.
Do the Norwegians lack jewelry that Metter Marit has to borrow one of the few personal pieces (due to her young age) the princess probably has? Or is this a weird mom-daughter power game? It truly struck me as a little odd, but I might be overanalyzing.
