The longest I have waited was 4 months with a CC vat refund. I have never paid cash at hermes, so I am not sure how they work, but from a different establishment, they gave me a form, where I got the cash back right at the airport.
The forms were exactly the same, but DH vaguely remembers that the envelopes were addressed differently, one to Hermes and another to Global Refund. For the tax refund from 24Fbg, I actually got slightly more than 10% refunded after conversion due to the ever strengthening Euro. For the GeorgeV refund, it was quite a bit less than 10% after Global refund took their commission.
The forms I got from both the Georges V and FSH were Hermes's own and had an envelopes addressed to their own VAT refund dept, but maybe these are forms instituted recently?
