In the early days the Calfskin used by Chanel was puffy, shiny and sturdy while now it is not that bad but I personally feel the quality has certainly declined. The Lambskin on the other hand is aesthetically pleasing but you will have to baby it else it will get damage easily and given the price of the bag your heart will get damage too.
YSL Calfskin is impressive. I feel it was made to be worn without the need to be overly cautious and this gets my vote if you are on the hunt for an everyday bag. I am using the Speedy 25 in Empreinte Leather and I love it. It is a great everyday bag and the leather has a beautiful shine.

Haven’t stopped thinking about this little cutie since the newer version was released! Asked a couple of my SA’s to look out for it & missed it in Selfridges last week so I went on the hunt 
searched eBay/Vestiaire, found 1 & just went with my impulse & bought!
The seller offered me a % off so I couldn’t say no!
The only thing it doesn’t come with a physical copy of receipt as had other items on there but have been sent a copy & it has been authenticated for extra peace of mind. Anyway - here’s my newest addition! Nano speedy
