Epi leather - is it really leather?

After doing some searching on here, I found lots of references to Epi leather looking and feeling like "plastic." Does anyone here know for sure that it is real leather and not just some vinyl material with a leather trim? I question this because other LV leather lines, for example Nomade, are way more expensive than the Epi line. Just wondering if a SA ever confirmed that the Epi is ALL leather.

It's not plastic, it's very "tough" leather, but it's definitely not plastic.

It is leather, but everytime I pull out my epi bucket, my husband tells me it looks like plastic.
