Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Danube was made in a golden colour, and if so, what colour should the lining be? Should it match, or be a darker brown colour? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this question....Just bought a lilac Epi Pochette (e-bay) and realized when I received it that it had an interior pocket, which I'd totally overlooked when looking at the listing pics. So I searched active listings and noticed none of the others had an interior pocket, then asked the experts here to authenticate it, and you know where this is going.....
So I e-mailed the seller last night to inform them that it was determined to be fake (mind you seller has 100% fb w/ > 500 sales) and they were VERY curt in their reply that they've never sold fakes, and that the pochette was purchased by the wife's ex (in her presence) at an LV store, so there was no way it could be fake, and that the pochettes made prior to 2000 all had interior pockets (they indicated it was purchased in late '99/early 2000).

I just came across this thread which (if I'm reading correctly) indicates that the Epi lilac color wasn't even introduced until 2002, so I'm just hoping someone can chime in w/ some answers- 1) did early model Epi Pochettes have interior pockets and 2) Was lilac introduced in 2002 or earlier?

TIA!!!

I have several epi pochette. None of them come with a interior pocket. One of the pochette is quite old where the strap attaches to the zipper pull (like a wristlet style) and it doesn't have a interior pocket either.

I am not 100% positive whether you have bought a replica without seeing any pics. So, to be on the safe side, see if you can return it.

Thanks for your reply kiuty....Here's the link to the auction I won w/ the seller's pics. They did agree to allow me to return it, even though their listing said 'no returns', so I kind of just wanted to validate that this is a replica even though the TPF authenticators said it was....

The pouchette you won is the same style as my older red pouchette (wristlet style, where the strap is clipped on the zipper pull)

I checked my pouchette again and it does not have a interior pocket. The date code is AR0977. I am not sure whether the lilac one is older than mine. What did the authenticator on the forum say?

I prefer the "shoulder bag" style rather than the wristlet style for pouchette. If you would like to carry the pouchette like a purse, it is likely the zipper gets pulled open a lot. I don't use my red pouchette that often for this reason; however, I use my yellow pouchette a lot because it is the "shoulder bag" style where the end of the strap is attached to a small ring on the side of the pouchette.

HTH :)

The authenticators here on TPF have said it's fake, but the seller keeps insisting that the older style pochettes DID have an interior pocket and that the pochette is authentic...In the end it doesn't really matter because they are allowing me to return it (even though their listing said 'no returns allowed'). I guess I was just looking for further valididation that the seller wasn't being truthful. I also cannot find a date code anywhere in the interior which is another give-away that it's not real...Thanks for your insight though!

^^^ My Tassil Yellow's date code year was 1995. So we know it was at least in production from 1995-2000:yes: . Here is the compiled EPI Charts...I have added a little more dates that I am aware of... If anyone has others please chime in:smile1:

I would tell you that you should attempt to make a note on the sellers feedback saying it was not a authentic purse. They sold a Josephine around the same time, and from what they are claiming the date code to be, it is fake. Buyers are seeing positive feedback for LV, getting the wrong impression.
