I didn't want an e-ring with diamond because hubby bought a diamond ring for my birthday last year (and he didn't propose!). I've always loved blue sapphire and he proposed me with a blue sapphire white gold ring :) Here are my e-ring and band on my bouquet taken a day after our wedding day in summer

I have truly loved looking at all of your rings and now I can happily say that I can post mine! My DF proposed yesterday! I absolutely love my ring. It's not as big as all of yours but I am over the moon with this ring (and with my DF too!).

Specs: It's a size 6 but it fits me loose so I'm going to get it re-sized to 5 1/2
0.71 carats (center stone), G color, SI2. That's about all I know :p

Please excuse my crooked pinky. It's hereditary :). Also pictured is Cavey with my ring. Isn't he the cutest :D.

Wow its absolutely beautiful and it looks huge on you, alot bigger than 71pts! Btw I have a crooked pinkey too (mine is from a car accident) so your not alone :D

I LOVE this! JBEG did an amazing job. Did they find the stones for you too? That is one of my favorite websites to look at for all the pretty things!
I sourced the stones before I had decided to go with them for the mount. I was considering Single Stone, BGD, and Leon for the mounting. I liked the profiles that JbEG does so I went with them. JbEG does carry some beautiful stones though!

Wow Ladies I have been admiring this thread for a long time and never posted bc I'm not engaged and didn't want to be a lame bc I don't have a ring to share.

I just wanted to share that you ladies have beautiful rings, and even more beautiful stories to go with them. I just hope I'm lucky enough one day. I'll definitely direct my fbh to this thread.

This isn't my original engagement ring and I've had it for several years, but I still look at it all the time and just can't help feeling how lucky I am to be wearing it and to have the wonderful, generous man in my life who gave it to me. My ring story...

I got engaged my senior year of college and I honestly didn't care that much about the ring. Only having one friend who got married before me, I hadn't really paid attention to engagement rings and I was just so excited to be marrying the man of my dreams that the ring was almost an after thought. I did tell him I wanted a marquise shaped diamond, but I think I just sort of picked that shape without giving it much thought. He chose a very good quality 3/4 ct. marquise diamond in a yellow gold setting with small chanel set diamonds in the engagement and matching wedding band. Being a poor college student, amidst other poor college students, everybody thought it was huge!

Within the next one to two years after we were married, I had many friends who also got married. I started taking notice of their rings and realizing that I didn't like mine so much and I also started to figure out what I did like. Then I had a friend who got engaged and her ring was a 3 ct. emerald cut in a platinum setting. I took one look at it and I knew what I wanted. I also worked for 11 years as a nurse in a pediatrician's office and it became an obsession of mine to check out the rings on all of the mommies, still always favoring the emerald cut diamonds.

So, 14 years later, after having the marquise diamond reset into a different band once (I somehow thought I would like it better), my husband said it was time for me to get a whole new ring. The emerald shape that I had always thought I wanted turned out to not be sparkly enough, so I decided on Princess cut. My husband really wanted to get me something around three cts., but at the time I was still working as a nurse and I needed to be able to get gloves on while wearing the ring. I knew I wasn't going to be willing to go to work without it! Then, I was struggling with the issue of clarity vs. size and staying within a certain budget. My brother gave me some advice based on his own experience. He proposed to his wife with a 1 ct. diamond that according to him, was perfect in color and flawless in clarity, but in his circle of friends, normal is 3-4 carats and many even have 5 or 6, but most aren't of the quality that he bought. He has noticed that women don't seem to pay attention to the quality as much as the size and sometimes he thinks his wife would have been happier with a larger diamond instead of a perfect diamond. So I figured out the two most important things for me, other than size; I wanted a good color and an excellent cut so that it had a lot of sparkle, but I didn't care so much about inclusions, as long as they didn't interfere with the sparkle and they weren't visible to the naked eye.

Sorry for the long story! I just feel so lucky to have the ring of my dreams and I wanted to share it with everybody!

Scott Kay platinum crown setting
Center diamond is princess cut 2.00 carats, clarity SI1, color F

My camera wouldn't cooperate in taking a decent profile picture, so I posted the manufacturer's pic too
