So I haven't posted on this forum in a while...mostly because I forgot my login info and let's just say a lot of life has happened in the interim!

Husband #1 is no more......long story, but it's a good thing! Let's just say I caught him in some very uncompromising positions! (Some of you may remember him from previous posts)

I re-connected with my college sweetheart via Facebook no less and in one very short year we've gotten engaged and plan a May 2011 wedding! He was always the one that got away and I couldn't be happier!

He proposed to me in May and it was perfect! He let me choose my own ring so I did!

I didn't really want anything too opulent, but rather something timeless, so I chose a 3 stone ring in a modified Tiffany Lucida setting. (No, not Tiffany's, I wish!!)

Metal: 18K White Gold
Center Diamond: 1.10 carat, F Color, VVS1 clarity
Side Diamonds: Roughtly .50 carat each, F-G Color, VS1-2 Clarity
Total Diamond Weight: Roughly 2.10 carats total

The picture took me forever to get right...if it's a little off, I apologize, cell phone and I used fairly unnatural light.

what a wonderful story. i truly believe that things happen for a reason—sounds like a cliché, but that's what i believe. your fiancé was meant to come back into your life—if only to give you this gorgeous ring! :graucho:

congratulations!

Looks simply perfect on you! Soooooo Beautiful!! CONGRATULATIONS ambicion6!

Thank you!! I wanted clarity over size, as clarity is extremely important to me. My jeweler in the diamond district informed me that a ring with high clarity will A) appear bigger and B) have more fire and sparkle. So I wanted something that was as near to flawless that we could afford!

I agree most people don't get the whole clarity thing, but I also have small, chubby hands! BIG diamonds look ridiculous on me! :p

nyc_cady, congrats!!! I love stories like that!!!!

CMM - I'm a size 5 ring and I agree, its perfect! They are all also austrian diamonds, so non-conflict which was very important to my fiancee.

Congrats to you! I love the princess cut! I almost went with one! Also, my fiance and I were very adamant about going with conflict free diamonds as well! Mine are from Canada, and have adhered to the Kimberley Process to be proven to be conflict free. Good choice on going with conflict free!

Sharing mine. I got engaged a few months ago, and my fiance gave me this -- it's an heirloom piece from his mom who loves jewelry. He had it reset to make it more updated. It is a little over one and a half carats. I can never get enough of the sparkle. Love it! :)

NYC_Cady, we're ring twins! Mine is the Tiffany three stone basket setting, but H in color. We also are happy we went with VVS diamonds. I get compliments on how "clear" my ring is all the time!

We're also getting married May 2011 (my college sweetheart). I totally want to see what band you choose to go with your three stone!!! I might steal an idea or two ;)

Hehe - Ring twins! I love it! The 3 stone is one of the most popular settings out there! But I love it! :yahoo: Yeah, clarity was more important to me than size, looking at my picture again, I realized that the diamond to the left of the center stone looks slightly yellow.I promise it isn't! I wanted as white and as clear as our budget allowed! I'm going to post a gallery view too.

We're getting married May, 21, 2011. When is your date?!? Have you picked out your dress yet? I JUST picked out mine. I went with Justin Alexander and the second I put it on, I knew it was the ONE!

Wedding rings is tricky. I'm debating going with prong set diamond ring guards on either side of my e-ring or doing one big eternity band, like a 2 carat TW eternity band. I feel like I've tried on a million different wedding bands! And I thought the engagement ring was going to be the hard part!

What a precious story. I love your your ring! I have the same style, and almost the same carat weight; however mine is set in yellow gold. I showed my husband your picture and he said " is that your hand" lol :D
