heres a few solitaires i tried before choosing my ring :smile1:

Some eye candy for you :D

Jonathan Jay, they're so precious!
If I would choose my own engagement ring, I would pick my birthstone in diamond form and have it surrounded with tiny diamonds in a halo. I would like my ring personalized. But that is up to my SO because it depends on his budget.

Thanks for all of your comments! Yes I am in the UK and to be honest, safety here isn't too bad depending on which part of the country you are in!

Jonathan Jay that's a beautiful ring.

I am confused with come comments though as I thought you were meant to keep the same ring for life?!!!!

That said the halo is the only ring that has made my heart skip a beat. I have spoken to my bf and he said he doesn't care he isn't buying it because he doesn't think it's an everyday ring, stones will get lost, I'll get robbed and it's his money!! Which I find a little frustrating.

Any more thoughts/opinions or experienced to share?

When i was looking for a diamond ring because I never had one and it was for a a 5 year anniversary ring, I only had a solitaire in mind. I felt like it was the best choice if I had to wear it everyday. My DH always tells me that those small diamonds are left overs from the one jewellers cut so basically isn't that expensive.i remember one jeweller who told me that if I wanted to buy a diamond with a high carat but wouldn't cost more I should choose the paved ones or those princess cut with 4 squares or those round diamond surrounded with small diamonds etc. i would recommend solitaires but if you like the halo then go for it. Its true your husband is gonna pay for it but you are the one who is going to use it and so your taste should count more. I think the point of engagement ring is to make the fiancee happy right? So would you be happy with his choice or your choice? Maybe if you buy the ring together, Show him how each ring would look to your finger and looked really happy as you try the ring you like he might change his mind. That was always my way of letting my DH buy what I want. I noticed that when I act excited over something he buys it right away compared to looking at some stuff I say I like but it didn't show on my face or actions. He cannot refused me as long as he sees how much I like it
