Hi Edie owners. If you have the regular Edie with the name plate...just wondering how you are liking it...if it gets a bit more slouchy over time. If you also have Phoebe would love to hear how you like them compared to one another. Have considered Edie...like the thick should straps and the turnlock is kind of cool. I am not that crazy about the name plate though.

TIA

I think Edie holds more than Phoebe for some reason. It's slightly longer and wider at the bottom and I guess that really makes a difference.

So I bought the brass/vapor black edie again yesterday. I ordered it a few weeks ago and it had some spots without coloring and smelled really bad so I returned it. I kept thinking about it though and saw it at Macy's yesterday. My sweet SA went in the back and brought 3 new ones out still factory wrapped. The 1st one she opened up was in perfect condition and didn't have the nasty smell my other one did. She price matched the coach sale and now I need to decide if I should keep it. I really want an Edie but don't like gold hardware so this is one of my few options. I also have rhyder in bronze metallic though and am wondering if they are too similar to justify having both. I also have a gunmetal isabelle so the gunmetal edie is definitely not an option. I'm not a fan of the coach plate but I feel it is less noticeable in this metallic finish than the regular edies. I love the embossed version but the large is too big and I only found it in jade in the regular size. Ugh.... what to do?

Well glad to hear not all the metallic have an odd scent. I've been looking at emthe Edie myself but just not sure about the name plate either. The Isabelle seems like it would be much different from the newer metallic. Sorry other than that I'm not of much help. Good luck.

Yes the metallics are completely different. My isabelle is the wonderful squishy madison leather with a beautiful teal lining and seems too be a bit more delicate than the new metallics. Since they are both gunmetal with silver hardware shoulder bags I can't justify both though, just too similar looking. I would love the fuchsia edie if it were a bit darker. I'm assuming new spring colors for edie will come out but I tend to be a fall/winter girl. 90% of my bags come from the fall lines.

I really love the bronze Edie with black hw, and for what it's worth, besides being metallic, I don't think it's anything at all like bronze Rhyder, so I see no issues with having both. :graucho:

Ok...... you definitely help convince me to keep it!! I really love the black hardware, it's my favorite aspect of the bag. It will make a great neutral for my wardrobe. Most of my bags are purple/teal/fuchsia. I don't even currently own a plain black or brown bag. I think this is the closest I will come to having a more neutral color.

Does anyone find the large embossed way too heavy? I love it but notice that my shoulder kills me the day after carrying it. I don't carry much either. It is such a pretty bag, just bums me out that it hurts to wear it. :/

I find it very comfortable to carry but I use it for work and errands. On days when I am walking around or shopping all day, I use one of my smaller crossbody bags. Plus I used to carry Dooneys all the time so weighty bags don't seem to bug me.
