Yes, it is very sad. Liz was such a neat lady and a true advocate for animal adoption. And just a great sense of humor and a lot of FUN. Miss her much.

I didn't know her very well, sadly (I wish I had), but I always enjoyed reading her posts and chatted with her a couple of times on threads and of course, had great admiration for her belief in adopting strays.

I remember when she first joined, I particularly noticed her because of her name and thought what a good idea it was to call oneself something like that, to encourage others to adopt, rather than buy, animals.

The world is a poorer place without her, that's for sure.

I hope her family and pets are doing OK, Ellie?

HI Meno!
TBH, I don't know when this Python pod was made. Rogue Escape Pods in Ireland, I think I bought it sometime in 08. Was a custom order - this grey python and a black python w/ a RIRI zipper. Buyer never claimed them, and I just happen to inquire about pods at the right time and got lucky. And yep, still have them. She's made some very cool pods... there are MANY I would love to have.

Do Rogue still exist, do you know, Ellie?

Yes, she's still on PF, still on EBAY, however, the machine that she used to make her pods bit the big one. SO, as of our last convo, no new pods being made. There were a couple of her handpainted ones for resale on ebay recently. She's very talented.

Oh, she's a member?

Yes, she is very talented - when she first produced them (years ago!) I stumbled across them on a website and applied for one (you had to apply to the owner of the website, back then, due to short supply, apparently).

I wanted the snake and egg one, at the time.

I didn't hear anything, so I more-or-less forgot about them, but I saw one on here recently (one of the flower ones - I didn't know yours was also a Rogue, BTW, Ellie [I assumed it was a Bal, not knowing anything about Bal!]), which reminded me how nice they were, so I checked eBay a few weeks ago and couldn't find any. :nogood:

What a shame that the machine has broken...

I wonder what kind of machine one would use to make pods, anyway?! :D

I'm sure it's just a sewing machine, but in my mind it's a specialised pod-maker!

wow! this thread moves fast...
love the dog, especially the blue and brown eyes! and the pics of the "naughty" bags are very funny!
here is the same ellie mae, no great finds in st.vinnies and garage sales are a bit of "dumpster" sales.plus, unluckily, a lot of fake bags seem to make its way to the op shops...
congrats on those finds!

Yes, she is. I think she had a special sewing machine that could stitch thick leather. More a commercial version, probably. I hope that someday she can get back in the pod business.
