Ear piercing before ear piercing guns

I didn't get my ear's pierced until I was 18. My mom said if I was supposed to have the holes, I would have been born with them. So on my 18th bday she took me to a body piercing parlor and I got them done! She came with me and held my hand. It wasn't too bad, plus they used a clean needle for each hole (I got my lower lobes and my cart. done) and I got to wear hoops right away.

Piercing guns are so bad and they can't be truly sanitized either. I've heard horror stories too! Plus the gun can mess up your cart. pretty bad.

Mine were pierced with a gun in a chemist in 1985 (when I was 4) and apparently I screamed down the whole shopping centre!

I had my ears pierced in 1971/72 when I was about 14, at a jeweller's in Egland, and they used the gun....I had no idea it was a new thing.....I just have my two lobes pierced.

i had my ears pierced with a gun because i was young and my mom didn't know what a bad idea piercings guns were. the rest i've had done properly with needles. guns = bad.


my dad pierced my mom's ears in 1982 with a needle and an ice cube in their kitchen.

I actually have 3 in each earlobe, and one in the top cartlidge...but...those were done in my teenage years, so I only wear one in each earlobe now.
All but the cartlidge were done professionally.

Mine were pierced when I was a couple of day born, manually (no guns) same with Ddaughter's, she didnt even cried or moved.

I have three per earlobe, the second was done by my grandma when I was 15 and didnt really hurt that much, once again without a gun. The third time I did it myself @ 16, that one hurted a lot

Well I was a stupid 13year old kid who wanted my ears double pierced. My mother thought it was trashy and said no. So one day my friend and I went to my room with a piece of ice and a sewing needle and I pierced my own ears. Stupidest thing I ever did. They are not even symmetrical.

To answer your question, my first piercing was done when I was 8 by a nurse with a piercing gun. My mother said hers were done in the 1960s with a big needle.
