^^no, I actually read comments on here pretty often where people say things like "if I went any bigger than this 1 crt it would just look silly on me!" or "my friend has 3 carats and it looks ridiculous on my finger" :yes:
I think it's because they aren't used to seeing that size on them, so it looks odd to them {?}

LOL I said that about over 1 ct and let's just say I won't say that again. Now..I might about the 8ct I tried on at GOG, but that thing was just rock candy and funny on me. But I think I could get used to 3ct pretty easily HAHA!

As long as it's a high-quality, sparkly diamond -- it doesn't matter what size it is. A large, dead-looking diamond would look horribly cheap to me if its cut was poor. Given a choice between a large poorly cut diamond and a smaller well-cut diamond, I will always pick the smaller diamond.

Definitely what looks best on my hands. I have long skinny fingers and a size 5 1/4. Plus I love the marquis cut so bigger is not always better for me. Quality and proportion is key. My stone is 1.33 carats and we are currently looking into an upgrade. It isn't going to be much bigger though as I want to leave room for future upgrades and not have anything that looks too garish. If a woman is wearing a massive diamond, I usually think it is a CZ unless she appears to have money in other regards (furs, other large diamond jewelry, designer shoes/bags, etc...) For me, bigger is not always better, it is what looks best when worn.

This. I wish I wouldn't have to make a choice between quality and size, but something had to give and that would be size. My fiancé is used to seeing multiple carat rings, so that's where his tastes lay. I think my e-ring is a great compromise: 2ct three stone with complete finger coverage and great quality round diamonds.

The shape makes a huge difference on my hand. I think with a step-cut, anything over 2cts looks good but with a round, any ring over 2 cts looks hilarious. I tried on my MIL's gigantic round (3-4cts, it's huge!) and it looked so fake. Because I work in retail, I've noticed most people already think my ring is probably fake because I'm wearing it. (I actually find it kind of funny) My ring size is a 3 and my entire frame is very petite, so everything looks much bigger on me.

I guess I look hilarious. . . or fake :push:
My ring finger is a 3.75, someone asked for a pic, here's my 3.67 crt RB:

Thanks! I got a stack of them last year to add to my solitaire. I wear a different everyday :D No special story or history w/ them, they're by Beverley Kay and are custom made to your size and I got to hand pick the colored stones. I have 2 more in the thread about the bands - both are all diamond, one is super teensy/thin and the other is alternating shapes.
I love them, I left the solitaire in the room a large part of our vacation and just wore a band or too all day to keep the big one form getting covered in sunscreen :-s

I want more of them, one for every holiday!

Swanky, do you have a regular wedding band? I want 3 small stacking rings. Only place I have seen nice ones was NM. Diamonds in the rough. Anywhere to look online?

Thanks!
No, those are it :D My solitaire is still in a temporary setting :push: So I use those as my wedding band{s}
Look at Pearlmans.com and look at Beverley Kay's rings :yes:
I have an SA there if you need.
