I dont really know much about diamonds. My diamond is a H&A from Whiteflash and I LOVE it, I get compliments on it all the time, I think the cut makes it super sparkly. I swear these pictures dont do it any justice. Here is mine, its 1.26 cts.

PS I take every chance to post pictures of it, lol.

CONGRAGULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT BTW!!!! :yahoo:

You diamond is amazing. I love the simple setting worn with diamond band.

Ame,
Can you tell me how you heard about thousands of unhappy WF customers? Do they have their own website?
As a matter of fact, WE DO!

MANY of us unhappy customers are now former Pricescope members and the former status is strictly because they spoke out about their problems and obviously the powers that be don't appreciate honest criticism of their biggest shill, er I mean, advertisers.

And definitely keep in mind that we, excepting a very small few, have had NO troubles with the diamonds. Its the JEWELRY and WORKMANSHIP (or lack there of) and MISREPRESENTATION and SHADY PRACTICES that make us unhappy.

The rest I have met through several other boards and MANY in person at this point. There is QUITE a network of us. And when someone is unhappy, they make sure the world knows it.

And just a side note: Consider not having the same username and password there and on other internet sites. Strongly. You don't have to take my word for it, but the printouts and log files I have sent copies of to my legal representatives more than prove it.

ETA--Correction: some of the PS formers didn't get banned, they simply couldn't tolerate the totally skewed environment and left on their own volition.

Wow Swanky that stone is... WOW .. After the post about WF I think I'm going to be going to a local jeweler to purchase both the diamond and setting. I was hoping I wouldn't get any bad responses about WF, but I guess not. However, I'm going to be going with a platinum setting, and I got the sense you were talking about replating gold? Either way, I'm still skeptical!

There are other online vendors worth checking out. Goodoldgold.com is really amazing. They sell incredibly gorgeous stones, H&A and otherwise, and their service is TOP NOTCH. They don't care where you get your setting and they will bend over backwards to do whatever it takes to make and keep you completely elated with your purchase.

That said--if you find a stone you love, that really speaks to you, snatch it up. You can do a price and spec comparison on PS to get a range for what the stone would go for with a reputable online vendor.

The local jeweler for a setting is a wise move no matter--it allows you to build a relationship locally because that's who you will be relying on for sizing, polishing, inspections and maintenance.

Ame~I can't find a site that supports what you are saying. I would like to view these allegations for myself. A statement that thousands of people are unhappy with a vendor needs substantiation and I would appreciate your help in this matter. Apologies to the OP for the threadjack.

I also apologize to the OP.

No substantiation is required, either you are simply being nosy or you are running as a middleman, and neither of which I am interested in being part of. I am not about to expose my friends and fellow board members to more frustration and drama revolving around this vendor by inviting someone requiring "substantiation" to a board where we have found solace and comfort from our negative experiences. Should I have been willing to do so, you would have found many familiar "faces" among the crowd. Some who you might have wondered "what happened to so and so?"

Not one of us on the other board wants to relive how our disappointing experiences with said vendor ruined what should have been happy memories of a life-changing experience, which is why I feel it important to warn potential customers of the pitfalls of dealing with them. My wedding ring that I got married with, the one that should have been a symbol of my marriage and vows no longer exists. I no longer have that memory or that piece of jewelry. I no longer have the emotional bond tied to that important piece of jewelry. What I have instead, is the worst and most hurtful memory of what should be the happiest day of my life and the beginning of a lifetime with my husband and the anger and hurt in how it was dealt with, or in my case not dealt with.

Not everyone has been screwed by them, as you can read on PS from the biased raves all over. Many of us on the other board are incredibly ENVIOUS of those happy customers. I count myself among those envious, because I thought for sure when I paid them for a job that should have been a piece of cake, that was to be a very important memento and that I thought for sure would endure a lifetime of occasional wear that I would be one of those elated customers. And unfortunately I am NOT. But more than that, the treatment I received after voicing my concerns was simply unacceptable in terms of proper business practice. Their "reputation" was completely disproven in my case and in that of very many others. I am happy that some folks, hell a vast majority of their clientele and of PS membership, had a positive experience. I have seen so many beautiful examples of what they CAN do. But don't believe all the hype because over there, it's all butterflies and rainbows about how amazing they are. But they are just like any other jeweler. The key difference is how it's skewed over there. Notice how few negatives you see on that board. And how if one manages to remain posted, it's completely torn to shreds and the poster of the problem accused of being inaccurate.

So before you go stirring the pot, know for yourself that it does exist, and that folks that "need to know", and some who it doesn't even pertain to, already know about it.

I am done discussing this in public with you. If you want further discussion of my experience and anyone else's contact me in private.

woah! Why so aggressive? Marian isn't a "middle man" or a "pot stirrer".
She is kind and is simply asking to learn from it. I do't know why you're so defensive?
I'm a PS member and worked w/ WF. . . but didn't buy. I do notice that following they have at PS and how people almost pounce on anyone w/ less than stellar reviews/questins about them and it bothers me.
But you're assuming Marian {risingsun} to be something she's not. . . she's asking because she's genuinely curious.

All that said, I'm really sorry this happened to you. It SHOULD be perfect and anything less than that is really disappointing.

I apologize if that came across as incredibly aggressive, that's honestly just how I am normally. :) It's a pro and a con all at once. I intended for that to be a very firm, and professional, "no". As politely as I am capable (or evidently, incapable.)

I know who Marian is from PS, and I remember chatting with her over there when I was a member. While I don't know your screen name over there, I have no ill will towards either of you. I am simply trying to share my side of the story as there are at least 2 to every story, though more likely a few million.

^that's okay. . . DH is like that.

I have only been at PS for a month or so, just to learn enough about stones to choose my recent upgrade. I like forums pretty well so have checked back in most days since then for fun. I do notice people are not allowed to question WF w/o a pretty strong backlash and I think that's too bad.
Neiman Marcus advertises here, but Megs & Vlad graciously allow people to post their honest experiences w/ them, good or bad.
I was curious to visit the website you're speaking about as well, knowledge is power:tup:

Thank you for the support, Swanky. I am curious about the statements ame made. I think it very reasonable for her to post about her own experiences, but to make a broad statement about thousands of people with similar problems can be misleading to others who are reading this thread. If I were looking for a vendor, I would want more information upon which to base my decision.

I understand as well.

I will have to discuss this with the other members for their takes because it is invite-based at this point. It didn't start out that way, but we had some...breaches that required it to become as such.

And to clarify:
It's not just totally anti-vendor over there with consistent bashing and beratement and wallowing in our frustration. At this point since it's been a few years now, save for a few random threads, we talk about the same stuff we talk about over at PS and in here.

I had PS problems after complaining about the customer service at WF. I felt backed into a corner by other posters and never posted about WF again. Actually, the WF customer service rep responded to my post on PS and completely LIED about what he *didn't really* try to do to amend the situation. I'm afraid to post on PS about WF, but I'm more than happy to share my experiences here.

Basically, my fiance wanted to purchase a stone from them and we wanted to have it appraised with another stone from Good Old Gold. I was very honest with them about how we wanted to compare the diamonds and have them appraised together. They were fine with that and were bending over backwards... until I broke the news that I wanted a Leon M. setting. At that point, they were awful and even decided to NOT give us a discount that they promised. PM me for details. It was so weird. Seriously, why risk a >$11k sale because I'm not buying a stupid $1k setting?

In the end, we chose the WF stone because it was the same price as the one from GOG, but was VVS1 vs. VS1. It's slightly smaller than the GOG stone, but only by .1 ct. I absolutely love my WF diamond, but I love my Leon setting more. :p

I may upgrade with WF in the future, but I'll probably look at GOG first.
