I love both cuts. For earrings, I would do radiant cuts with halos that are slightly rounded at the corners....that way, you get the spreadiness of radiant with a more rounded overall effect. I think the radiant's "crushed ice" look would be absolutely stunning as earrings.

I agree!!! I wouldn't compare the radiant to a Princess.........the right radiant is gorgeous!

I love radiant-cut stones, at least for pendants, and not necessarily diamonds. One of the prettiest pendants I own is a pink topaz and sterling rectangle, radiant-cut. The sparkle in it is gorgeous, yet it's not an expensive stone. I do also like cushion-cut stones in rings.

Cushion. It's one of my favorite cuts and looks timeless with a halo. I'm not a huge fan of the radiant...even if it does face up larger.

I second Lovesparkles and KristyDarling regarding earrings. Cushions probably won't stand out on the earlobes unless they're accented with more refractive melee stones.

For the ring, cushion cuts look more "timeless" although I wouldn't describe them as matronly. Radiant stones have a modern look to them because the cut has recently been developed; nobody will mistake the radiant for an heirloom. A radiant stone will make your finger look slimmer and more youthful, if you have any concerns in that department.

I vote radiant but if you love the cushion don't let any of us stop you. They're both beautiful and when you see the right ring you will know. Look at every single cut you possibly can try them all on.
