Congrats on choosing the cushion cut!

Since you have found Pricescope, you may have seen the August Vintage Cushions from Good Old Gold mentioned. They are stunning! I would totally look at those if you like chunkier cushions!

I would not buy a diamond without seeing it. There are a lot of diamonds with similar specs on paper, but I always feel you have to fall in love with a diamond. I would choose a diamond that you consider buying and ask the broker to collect some others as well and then fly to New York. For a 3 carat stone it's worth the trip.

Go to Pricescope.com and look at photos of both.

I think cushions are very trendy right now, much more than radiants. I have the impression that nice radiants are harder to find than nice cushions. But if I were you, I would request advice from Pricescope, they can tell you what questions to ask your vendor and so forth.
Good luck.

I have a radiant, but for your design, I'd go with cushion. not a fan of pair since I can only picture old wealthy matrons or one of the real housewives wearing them.

I definitely prefer cushion over radiant. I've never liked the faceting on the radiant cuts and the way it looks. I think Swanky described it best when she said it looked like a princess cut. I've never liked those either. I would also nix the pear for a ring. I've never liked pear cuts for rings, I feel the shape lends itself better to earrings or pendants.

I love both cuts. For earrings, I would do radiant cuts with halos that are slightly rounded at the corners....that way, you get the spreadiness of radiant with a more rounded overall effect. I think the radiant's "crushed ice" look would be absolutely stunning as earrings.
