Dyeing a bag with contrast stitching.. any thoughts?

Hello all.

I just got a black medium leather ergo hobo. Initially I was looking for a bag with no contrast stitching if possible though the price was hard to pass up on this one. I am considering to dye the stitching part only (bag is smooth black leather).

has anyone done this before? any thoughts, warnings? i am not yet 100% set on this project though.. words to discourage me are also welcome!

I am not sure if that is even possible. You would have to get a fabric dye for the stitching I imagine...something that does not stick to leather....

If you have a steady hand, maybe try a sharpie- on part of the stitching in an inconspicuous place first.
