D&B Flo feed bag …?

Snooping around the resale sites, and came across this ROUGH bag. I’m not interested in purchasing, but wanted to post this because I haven’t come across this style yet. Does anyone have one of these in their collection?

I have a smaller style of a similar bag with the round base. Mine is in navy and was called
the feed bag too.
But I think it was pebbled leather and has a leather strap. It's buried in the closet.... in excellent condition,
except it is probably squished from storage.

Question, disregard if duplicate or in wrong area I am new to forum so I pre-appolgize…. Is pale blue the same or very similar to Caribbean blue? I just got my first DB and it was listed as florentine pale blue and I’m searching for wallet in similar color. TIA!
Both pale blue and Carribean blue are beautiful colors, but they are very different.
Pale blue is a very light 'true blue' shade. Carribean blue is a bright, midtone
blue shade with a turquoise undertone.

I own both these colors in Dooney pebble leather and
the pale blue in Florentine leather. While many colors look different
in different leather, the pale blue and Carribean blue seem to be consistent
regardless of the leather.

Over time Dooney has done other shades similar to pale blue.... like
Dusty Blue, and other shades similar to Carribean blue. There was a thread
a while back where we tried to list all the Dooney blue shades over the
years. It's quite a long list.

Beautiful bags. I purchased several Dooney bags and two Florentine satchels. The micro in chestnut is beautiful and it looks and smells real. The mini in natural, not so much to me. I did purchase all my bags for I Love Dooney or Dooney.com. The green suede is a brighter green vs my other bag, also the duck's bill is touching the stomach (all of my Dooney's have a space) and the smell isDB_front.jpgDB_back.jpgDB_side1.jpgDB_side2.jpgDB_inside1.jpgDB_inside2.jpg off.

You can post on the Dooney authentication thread on this forum. You will get an assessment by those who have a lot of experience. Just check to see what kind of
pictures they want you to include. I know the front and back of the Dooney sewn in
tag are needed for authentication.

In my experience, while it is possible a handbag from ILD was not authentic, it's very unlikely. It would only happen if the item was a return from a customer. If the bag you got was factory wrapped, then that's unlikely.

As for handbag scent and even feel, that can vary as each piece of leather is unique
and can potentially interact with things used in the tanning process differently. Also,
when items are shipped from distant countries, there is the potential for odor contamination on the ship.

Welcome! No apologies needed.
If you're looking at Caribbean Blue. I'm assuming you're eyeing a pebble grain leather wallet. The color dyes on pebble leather (pl or pgl) never match up perfectly with dye on florentine in my experience. Here's a pebble leather Caribbean blue Piper in pl. Your florentine pale blue is a softer hue I'm guessing.

This definitely helps when trying to look into color options to match up.

Gorgeous pale blue! Just a thought - if you don't want to search or wait until you can find a florentine wallet in the same color, a true white saffiano wallet would look stunning with it. Or maybe an ecru florentine wallet. The ladies here who own an ecru item (I don't) would be able to advise on whether it would "go". Your pics in the Authenticate thread show - is it black trim? - so even an overall black wallet might go - depending on your taste of course.

Dark reddish brown trim … I was even thinking like a dark teal IMG_9588.jpeg

The dusty blue Florentine had a bit more of a grey undertone than the pale blue Forentine.
With a lot of colors it's hard to see differences unless you have both pieces in front
of you at the same time. Subtle differences are hard to see in pictures/on screens.

If you can't find a match for the wallet.... why not try another shade of blue....
anything darker or brighter would look lovely. And you don't have to match the leather
to the leather of the handbag (unless you want to).

I like my wallets, cosmetic cases, etc. to all coordinate with each other. They should look
nice with the color of the handbag, but more importantly for me.... I want all the things
inside my handbag to look like I chose them intentionally. I've done shades of blue for
handbag accessories inside a navy blue bag or navy accessories inside a lighter blue
handbag. Sometimes I mix in a print that includes both the exterior leather color and
the solid colors of the other accessories.

Have fun and enjoy your lovely new handbag.

Happy new year everyone. I hope everyone had fun last nite and is intact today….

so my little heart is all warm and fuzzy and brimming with love. I don’t know if you remember me asking about gifting a bag to a friend. Well my friend loves it and she is really enjoying her gift. I really love her, I’ve worked with her 20+ years and she is a real gem…. The bag looks amazing and I’m so glad I gifted it to her. This is what she said
