So in your experience purchasing D&B bags throughout the years, if given a choice between older and newer PG & Flo bags, which one would you buy?
That's a tough question. Vintage bags just aren't my thing. I admire others who put in so much time & effort & make them into gorgeous bags once more...but oh all that work! I enjoy brand spanking new bags the most & decently priced (like new) used ones in a pretty color BUT new bags from the manufacturer always win out - thick or thin.

All of the new bags that I have gotten, I can feel the difference in the leather. For example the older flo satchels without the flat panel feel thicker and heavier to me. The bags I have with the snap on the larger slip pocket, that’s on the front wall, are really thick and heavy leather . The Toledo mail satchel is extremely thick leather and very heavy empty. Just feeling it, I’m shocked and awed at how thick the leather feels.

When I say the leather feels thin on the new satchel 38 and medium toggle crossbody, I mean it doesn’t feel like Florentine leather. @KiltyR45 you know what vintage coach leather feels like right? It’s way thicker than the bags coach makes now. New coach boutique leather is thin and less substantial. And coach outlet bags are just meh. There is a difference between coach boutique bags and coach outlet bags. I wish you could feel what I’m talking about.
I’ve been handling every bag I have for my 2023 purchases video, I’m on vacation but damn this video is a lot of work. All of the older discontinued bags have thicker Florentine Leather.

Quality suffers and prices rise. I can't think of any product that this ISN'T happening to. Can anyone?

I’m also gonna tag @lavenderjunkie & @RuedeNesle in this.
I'm sorry for the delay in replying. I had to pack up once again to ride back with my DD this morning at 3am when she got off work. I was trying to sleep as much as I could yesterday afternoon.
I haven't purchased a newer Flo or PG bag in a long time. My last PG bag was Olivia (I'm pretty sure) and it's holding up as well as my older bags. I haven't felt the newer Flo bags so I can't compare. People have been complaining about the downgrade in quality for a long time. I think the vintage bags stand alone when it comes to Dooney quality. But I've never be disappointed in a new Dooney purchase. (Except that one TSV that was like wavy "leather". I returned it.) And I haven't been disappointed with any Dooney I purchased on Ebay or Poshmark.

Guys inside of my Clayton the rivets say…. I don’t know if dooney still does this as rivets are covered by the red lining in my newer bags…
things im finding while filming
The name on the rivets, is on my vintage Dooney’s. For me, that’s one of the ways to determine if the item is authentic. However, I spotted it on a newer bag I received today …

Ahem that looks like a Tilton…. I see you, Bag twin. Ok I never knew the name was on the hardware. Good deal. Learn something new everyday.

I ended up rehabbing a vintage Coach Lula’s Legacy #9952 for my mum for Christmas. I purchased a Coach keychain from the outlet. And included the Flo wristlet & kisslock.

If you’re interested, here’s my post with all the pix of this rehabbed beauty!
