O M G I love it! Your bag is gorgeous.

Could you do a review of the bag, please? I’ve been eyeing the mail satchel. I’m kicking myself for not grabbing the Bordeaux last weekend on ILD.
Thanks KittyR45! I will review when I carry it but I'm not going to carry until I touch up the naked leather spot. It may be a while. I'll have to get the paint & practice first.

Medium Florentine wristlet in navy came yesterday. My keys and 2 fobs are in it. It feels soooo good I love it. This came from eBay and I made an offer the seller accepted. The seller had one in chestnut as well and sent me an offer that I accepted. There was also a red option. I figured I wouldn’t like it because of my frequent handling of this wristlet as it patinas. This will be my most used Dooney. It will be used everyday in my pants or coat pocket. There aren’t many of these up for sale, qvc exclusives.

So as advertised it rained cats and dogs with thunder booming. I switched to my go to, second Dooney purchase, large Florentine satchel in chestnut. She frolicked and sang in the rain. This first pic was from coming home last nite and walking from the car. The second pic was this morning after she dried. Absolutely love this bag.

So happy your Florentine bag loves to frolic and sing in the rain. It's nice when you don't have to switch bags because of weather predictions, or hope there is no sudden downpour.
I love your bags and your wristlet!

I have a lot of red Florentine items. The handbags are red.
When each of the accessory pieces arrived they were some shade of
light wine/burgundy, not a true red. The accessories were bought new, primarily
from ILD, and over the span of several years.

Since accessories are made from small pieces of leather (leftovers?),
maybe the leather sits around for a long time or gets handled or
is from part of the animal that gets more exercise/abuse and takes
the dyes differently. I just don't know the answer.

I figured because I handle, really finger, the wristlets I wouldn’t try the red. I don’t have a red bag in my collection yet. They are very pretty, but with the lotions, dirt, keys, along with patina of constant rubbing, it wouldn’t be pretty for long. Ive looked at well used wristlets and even the chestnut will be dark and well used looking. I love the look of the Bordeaux. I wish the tulip shopper came in Bordeaux, I’ll settle for red if it’s offered during the holiday sales.

I absolutely love this color!

It’s beautiful. I’m scared of this pale blue,Ecru ,and natural colors. I don’t fair well with light colored bags.

And you can see she was dripping wet. Very happy she is in my collection. Will definitely be my go to this winter. It’s STILL raining today and will do so tomorrow. i didnt have an umbrella last nite, but I will take one today.

So @lavenderjunkie have you carried any of your red bags and got caught in the rain? Did they water spot stain? And can you describe the red patina as you’ve had them over the years? Are they less vibrant?

@RuedeNesle do you have red Florentine wristlets/ wallets that you handle constantly? If so how is the patina? From your earlier example I see your Toscana satchel sings in the rain. I’m wondering is it the same for red Florentine?

My red bags haven't gotten enough use to show patina.
As for rain and other spots.... my red Flo Russel has some spots and I don't know where
they came from. I don't remember being caught in the rain, but they could be
water from hand washing drips. My red Toscana (supposedly part of the Florentine
collection) also has a spot. I know that one was from hand washing.
The spots are aged. They happened years ago and haven't faded.

My black and navy Florentine bags have been caught in the rain and have
no visible spots. Personally, I'm afraid that any other color (except darkest
brown) Florentine will show water spots. Maybe on the palest colors
the spots won't show???? But I think midtone colors are
vulnerable. I know others show videos of drenched natural Flo bags
returning to pristine condition. I'm happy for them. But skeptical....
maybe it has to do with chemicals in the water or air in my area?

I don't have any Florentine accessories. My red Pebble Grain medium zip wallet and frame coin purse are looking good obviously because of the type of leather. My red lambskin Carrington pouch/wristlet looks MY age! I don't use it often, mostly in my suitcase for an additional travel pouch. But it looks like I use it and throw it around every day. I don't know if any other color in lambskin wears that way. I do want a red Florentine wallet at some point.
