My zip pod back pack is like that. It’s like back in the day when they had marine, navy, and the other blues all different. And of course it depends on the batches. I’m interested to see what this navy Tilton is gonna look like… it was also part of the birthday haul, but was on preorder and included in the Labor Day sale, so I did preorder as I was disgusted with the returned chestnut they sent. I made videos of my birthday haul and unboxing of the Tilton on youtube

I just subscribed to your channel! :ghi5:

Thank you so much for watching and subscribing… the navy Tilton will be next video up when it arrives….. let me go check the status on that…
I’ll be chilling on the island until the Black Friday sale… that chestnut Logan is still in my cart. No doubt I will get it as it is in my cart. Payday is Friday… dagnabit let’s just say that Logan was in the window at the airport on the way to my flight and I bought it on the way to the island…. LOL

can you please elaborate on the drawstring not working for you? Hope that’s not too all in your business…
it’s my first drawstring and I have no idea what to expect. I won’t count the Buckley even though it’s a drawstring, it’s like 3 bags in one, a tote bucket drawstring.

Question on your drawstring -- I absolutely love this Navy shade. Not too dark like some years they were. Do you know if it was a more recent or older version bag? It looks brand new so I'm assuming recent
Here is an example of the navy looking black. My Buckley is navy but looks black. My birthday satchel underneath it is navy and looks blue…

The pros and cons of drawstring bags:

Great looking and generally holds a lot of stuff.

Easy to get in and out of.

If you use pouches, finding things is easy, especially
if you put your items on their sides so they stand tall.
and use the pockets and key leash.

Unstructured tall silhouette makes if hard to find individual little things
that may slip to the bottom.

Wide bottom can make carry awkward as the bag is bulky
against the body. To deal with this many drawstring bags
are carried slung toward the back, so they don't hit the hip
or upper body at the widest point.

Usually have only 1 strap length for carrying over the shoulder.
(it may be adjustable). That means it's very long for
hand or arm carry and much too short for cross body.
Not an issue for cross body, since it's shape and size don't work
well for cross body.

The Small Logan isn't heavy and is a good size bag.
But most other Florentine drawstrings are heavy.
I've never seen the one called Small Florentine Drawstring
in person.

Anyone else have anything to add?

Thank you. The small flo drawstring measurement seemed to small for me. 8.75" x 8" x 4.5"
the small Logan says it’s 11" x 9-1/4" x 6-1/2". My ipad would fit in the Logan. On second thought my zip pod is 11x12 and my iPad just fits… sigh I love the braided handle on the Logan. I wonder if my phone would fit in the zip pocket..
I like that the flo drawstring on qvc has a back zip pocket. I don’t like the braided drawstring. I would tear that up in a heartbeat…

The navy flo drawstring I got yesterday has a lot of weight empty. I’ve walked around the house with it packed with my junk and it’s manageable. Because of the grommets around the holes the string is in, it’s rather tedious to open, and it doesn’t really open fully, but enough to get what u want out of it. The drawstring is smooth and easy to cinch. Opening it it’s like I have to kinda pull at the grommets in back to get it more open. I’m using my pouches and the slip pockets for my small items, cheaters, pack of gum. Hand sanitizer. I don’t like my used masks inside my purse, I usually put in outside pocket, but I’ll just keep it on my chin when not in use or just keep plenty of disposables inside in a baggie. I have those holders for the hand sanitizer that hangs like a charm, but I’m too scared of it leaking on my Florentine.

I carried a crossbody DS Amazon bag last summer when I spent 5 months in So Cal and Vegas. I wasn't with the grandkids so I didn't have the same concerns with them knocking over my bag in the car. It was fun to carry.
Every time I carry an open top bag, or if I forget to zip my bag, I'm always picking up pens and small items that fell out when I or the grandkids threw my bag in the back seat of the car.
Nonetheless I would love a suede DS crossbody bag, especially if it has an outside zip pocket.

I have 1 small Dooney D/S, it's an Ostrich embossed leather. And yes, it's small.
I can just pack my stuff inside (standing up), but I really like a bag with more room.
I won't be buying another small D/S.
The small Logan however isn't small. There must have been a larger size one,
although I never saw it. I have not trouble getting my stuff in the small Logan.
If you measure your cell phone, I'll measure my old one (which is large) and then make sure it fits. I don't remember having any trouble, but I'll double check if you want.

The usable space of handbags depends not only on the dimensions, but also how much
of the space is usable. In some bags with snap closures, like the Brenna and Barlow,
and the small Russel,
I find the upper portion of the bag isn't really usable. So for me, the bags hold less
than if they had zip closures across the top. I don't like to leave bags open
at the top since I don't want to have to hunt for my things when the bag
falls off the seat (which it often does).

Also a structured bag will hold less than a soft unstructured one.
Often hobos, like the Twist Strap Hobo
or the Flo satchels hold a lot of stuff even those with narrower bases,
since the sides expand to fit your things, even if you lose space
folding over the top.

What do you think of the ostrich leather? Does it feels really bumpy? I’m looking at a Kaya in a blueish-grey color right now. I found the pebble grain Kaya on the D&B website, and the bag overall looks pretty small. Just curious how that leather feels.

I was worried about cinching the Logan as my iPad will be packed vertically. i always pack it horizontally even in the Buckley. It fits well in this navy ds, but this is taller than the Logan. Wow if there was a large Logan it had to be as big as the Buckley. I love the Buckley but I wanted something smaller

So, I have a few more days until I can make a post. But I have a burning question.

What D&B bags are still made in the USA?

For reference, 95% of my collection is vintage D&B bags. I currently have 2 Florentine satchels, 1 large & 1 micro.

When I first got my Florentine satchel, I was taken aback that it was made in China. I thought I bought a fake. Anyways, I’ve come to find out that D&B bags are now made in Italy, Mexico, China, Vietnam. And I know the letter on the serial code corresponds to where the bag was made. The serial number in mine starts with J (China).

Some have said straight from the D&B site and/or flagship store are US made. The Florentines that are made in the US, have a different colored leather inside (not the green). Honestly, the information is all conflicting. I’m hoping someone here can clarify this for me. Thanks!

great question. I know the made in America has red leather instead of the green suede. I know it comes packaged differently. I also saw them on site before they came with the ivy. let me see if I can find the pic. there was no picture on site but I believe it was the made in America version. these were listed separately from the other satchels, like at the end of the listings. and the price ws different than the others.
these only came in Ivy and natural

Thanks for the info! I remember reading that too, about the packaging. I tried searching the site, and nothing came up. They don’t put where the bag(s) are made either.

TBH, I am kinda surprised they don’t have a made in America section.
