Thank you! I love my ring (if I ever get it). I totally agree with you too! Save for the ring and go simple on the wedding.

Well, it's true that many of us here don't think having a Tiffany themed wedding will make you seem richer or fancier, but there are those who think it's an attractive theme. To each their own - if the bride loved it and it was her dream theme and enjoyed her special day, that's all that matters.

Yes, to each their own. :smile1:

A guy I worked with bought a setting on Ebay that he swore was a Tiffany's setting. I think it was 4 prong, which I had never seen, but I wasn't about to confront him on it. I didn't think it was legit though.

I was engaged over NYEve. My BF & I picked my ring out together (2.05 Tiffany-set 4-pronged solitaire) beforehand IN Tiffany & Co., so yes, a 4-pronged totally real ring does exist. I am quite tall (5'9", 120 lbs), and I just love how large and sparkling it is on my smaller hand, and IMO, 4-prongs look much cleaner on my stone (F in color, VVS in clarity)
The Tiffany-themed wedding IS tacky, IMO!

^ Interesting. I never knew that. I'll have to call my SA and ask to see the four prong solitaire. . .I don't think I've ever seen it except on larger stones like the other posters have mentioned.

BTW, do you have pics???

we're keeping it simple, so no engagement pics are being taken. I can take one w/my camera, but it doesn't capture the true beauty of it. Maybe it was b/c my SO requested a "cleaner look" to my stone, a 4-prong = more light. 2.05 solitaires aren't cheap, esp. w/the lack of occlusions my stone has. I'd be interested to know what you find out, b/c I am 115% certain the real deal is on my finger right now. (Unless my BF and Tiffanys cooked up some ruse to fool me :smile1: )

Is it a Round Brilliant cut stone though? Tiffany has a few solitaires with 4 prongs but they're square cut (Princess) or cushion cut (Novo). They also have a bunch of designs with side stones that are round cuts with four prongs. But I have never seen a real Tiffany single stone setting with an RB stone and only four prongs. Would love to see pics of this new design if you have them!:smile1:

Add me to the list of curious posters that want to see the new design.

For what is worth, each of my three stones is held by four prongs. I'm
curious to see the side setting as well. :)

It's an 85 facet. I dont have a clue whether thats brilliant. There was one cut I preferred, but this won in the end :smile1:

It wouldn't be a round brilliant, which has 56-58 facets. The Star 85 is a patented cut, but not sold at Tiffany.

I'm guessing you picked out one of the Novo rings that is due to come out without the pave band. Please upload a picture of your setting! Dying to see it!

Ahhh you don't have a solitaire. It's the RB with the tapered baguettes on the side! Beautiful ring! Congrats!

And thank you Three Olives!! It's not as big as your beauty, but I love it too :D

yes, it has emerald-cut baguettes on the shoulders. It's also set in platinum. Maybe the 2 emerald-cuts are what's pushing it up over the 2ct mark? I find it stunning. Should I be disappointed? What is RB? But, can you see the 4-pronged setting on it? This is from Tiffany & Co, so they do make them... esp b/c my ring was of such high quality.
