well... I've seen lots of jewelry stores call their plain 4-prong or 6-prong solitaires "x-prong Tiffany ring". Maybe that's what it is..........................................................................................or the guy bought some random ring and put it in a Tiffany's box................................................................

THAT would be awful!!! My SA told me girls come in all the time to bring their jewelry in to be fixed and repair people have to turn the girls away because the jewelries are fake!!! Then the tears start rolling after that. . . .

^^ But it's one thing if they have Tiffany Blue as the main color at the wedding. It's another when they have real Tiffany boxes stacked up everywhere (okay, I'm exaggerating here) so they are in every guest's face. :p

From my experience of talking with other future brides, the Tiffany blue and boxes are everywhere: from the cake to the bridal party favors.

That's good to know. I've been so out of the loop with wedding trends since mine took place 6 years ago. Looking at the picture I mentioned in my original post still bothers me a little bit, because it was an custom-made ring sitting on top of a Tiffany box. It's somewhat misleading, though I understand the message I got may not have been intended by the couple.

Having a Tiffany theme wedding seems weird to me, but it seems pretty common. I found tons of pics through Googling of weddings with favors in blue boxes, blue dresses, and even a cake that looked that stacked boxes. What are the bride and groom implying with this type of theme, I wonder?

The egg robin blue is rather beautiful. Movies have, at least for me (Home Sweet Alabama is one that comes to mind) that has imprinted in me at a young age that a Tiffany ring would be the ultimate dream ring. I remember seeing some wedding featured on TV (MTV?? Bravo?) where the show documented a bride creating a Tiffany themed wedding too - it's a craze. I don't think she had a Tiffany ring either but I think people choose this theme because the thought and name of Tiffany just elicits ideas of luxury, beauty, class, sophistication . . . and Audrey Hepburn LOL. Perhaps they are being a little materialistic in having such a themed wedding, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't guilty of such, so I won't make any judgments!

But I was thinking, her wedding must've been pricey to plan and execute. . .the couple could've had a simpler wedding and the bride might have been able to get a Tiffany solitaire. Maybe I am over-analyzing.

That makes sense. However, I would rather have the simple wedding and the Tiffany ring than the Tiffany wedding and a simple ring! I saw the thread with your Sola ring, and it's gorgeous!

I agree.

why would you want your wedding to be an ad for a brand?

It seems as though they probably couldn't afford a Tiffany ring (a lot of people can't, it's overpriced), so they got a Tiffany-like ring and then used to box. Not sure if they did that to fool people into thinking her's was Tiffany, or he bought it to fool her. Or maybe they bought it on eBay or something and really think it is Tiffany.

I think the whole Tiffany theme thing is lame. I mean, it doesn't make you look "richer" "fancier" "cooler" to do the theme. I don't know, to me it just screams of trying too hard. That was harsh, sorry.

Thank you! I love my ring (if I ever get it). I totally agree with you too! Save for the ring and go simple on the wedding.

I agree.

Well, it's true that many of us here don't think having a Tiffany themed wedding will make you seem richer or fancier, but there are those who think it's an attractive theme. To each their own - if the bride loved it and it was her dream theme and enjoyed her special day, that's all that matters.

I don't want to sound harsh or critical, but I didn't see much class and sophistication they way they set up the wedding... Everything seemed to quite unorganized and thrown together last minute. The Robin Egg blue is definitely one of the colors they had, on top of at least 5 other different shades of turquoise, blue and some other variations of blue.

I am not sure if the wedding was expensive to plan and execute, but it sure doesn't look it. :p

My sentiments exactly!
