As long as the handles arent BLACK, its ok. I've seen some really dirty/black handles. Slight darkening is ok, but I do condition my handles regularly so they dont accumulate dirt on them.

I am veeery careful with my bags, I love it when they patina into the honey tone but I tend to keep it in the closet after that for fear of it turnng black at the handles from excessive use. KWIM??

But then again, there's a sense of achievement for me when I see it turn that lovely honey color!! I'm in the process of maturing my Baggy GM now....
