Does having a nice bag mean you're a snob?

It is very hard to continue to be friends with friends who get jealous or envious. I am sorry to say I have had to drop friends like that before. It isn't my fault that the friendship has fallen apart just because I got a new expensive bag that I bought with my money.

Unfortunately, this definition of snob is unlikely to be true.

See here, etymology of "snob" from Random House Dictionary (Random House, Inc.): http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/snob (see bottom of entry for expanded etymology, attributed to Online Etymology Dictionary (Douglas Harper))

And here, etymology of "snob" from Oxford Dictionaries (Oxford University Press): http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/words/what-is-the-origin-of-the-word-snob

On the other hand... in so far as snobs are understood as those who "copy aristocrats"... there's certainly a case to made that those of us who are not aristocrats, yet carry nice bags... are snobs (unknowingly and otherwise). Nevertheless... it's unlikely to matter, whether or not any of us who carry nice bags, thinks we are snobs or not... for this is an epithet usually attributed to us, by others... without deference to our opinions on the matter. So, it's a moot point, for me personally. :p

Cool:) i didnt know snob meant this
