Does Anyone Have An Oval Diamond Ring? Would Love Get Setting Ideas!

Thanks for the nice comments!!!Well~ my ring has changed a lot since I first got it! Originally it was the same oval diamond but had a baguette on each side. I had it redone to the 3 oval diamonds a few years later. Then I had a jeweler make a wedding band that fit right under the ring so I could wear them both together on one hand. I love the details he did to the ring. I had him put little diamonds where he raised the stones so when you see it on the finger you can see the little diamonds that raise the setting. He also did some scroll work. I went to several sites to get ideas and printed out rings I liked and worked from that. The center oval diamond is 2.4 and the side ovals diamonds are .70.
It's funny b/c I never went with my husband to pick out my stone!~ which I think a lot of girls do~ he went on his own and totally surprised me. I never thought I would wind up with an oval diamond~ it just never even crossed my mind. But~ I do really LOVE it. Not many people have it and it is so pretty. My husband said he picked it b/c it looked like a football to him!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info on the sz & sharing your story about your DH's decision in selecting an oval. I'm really torn w/the shape. I'm looking at 2.5-3ct center & I don't know if I should do side stones or just tiny accent diamond around the stone & the band.
Mine is oval...i thought i was the only one LOL I think they don;t move as fast so he got a deal. But it is 1.23 and i chose a setting with 9 princess cut 16 pt sidestones underneath it in a bridge all the way under. I like it b/c i sort of designed it

Thank you...i don;t know how to put pics online but i'm going to play with my new digi cam and maybe have some developed onto CD...if/when i get that far maybe someone can help walk me through how to post them on tpf. Otherwise we have a LV tpf gathering scheduled in a week so maybe someone on there can get a pic of me for my avatar and my bag with me that day (i thought of bringing my collection as it is not near as big as others but i'd not only have to drag it all around all day lol but if they got stolen i'd be suicidal lol) and my ring LOL
