Does anyone else bag watch?

I currently live in a medium sized city & I see LV most. The mono variety.

I see the Chanel Boy as well as classic flaps. Usually in black as this city seems to be a bit afraid of color. [emoji29]

I do see a lot of MMK in certain parts of the city but not in higher income areas.

Goyard every now & then but not nearly as much as any of the aforementioned.

Gucci is another I see a bit but I also see a lot of bags that aren't brand name identifiable to those not in the know. And to me, if it's well made, who needs a super known name. Quality is what counts!

I totally bag watch. There’s not much to SEE in my piss-ant town, but.:P

It’s weird too, because it’s not a tiny city, maybe 275,000 people..? And we have one of the highest ratios of advanced degrees to population in the USA, so there’s money here, not Beyoncé/Rockefeller money, but enough.

Yet I think they might have never even heard of Fendi/Chloe/BV/Dior/Burberry here. I occasionally see a nylon Prada, and honestly maybe they’re fake. Once in awhile, Tory Burch. No Hermès except mine. Lots of fake Gucci. Lots of Coach, but mostly outlet Coach, not full-price Coach. Lots of LV, but only about three styles, and about forty percent fake by my estimation. Almost no Longchamp, except mine, not even fake.
There’s quite a bit of Kate Spade, and a lot of Dooney (not counting mine). But by far the most common brand is MK. In my state in general. I swear to God the people here are going to be wrapping their cars in MK siggy soon. But again, it’s all the cheaper-looking MK stuff.

I don’t knock MK like lots here, I have about five that I really like, but the cheapo outlet-only stuff, is what everyone carries here...blerrrg.
It’s mostly no-name or low-brand, like, I don’t know, Guess or Tiganello or Fossil, and tons of ripoffs. Meaning not FAKES, but bags you can tell are ‘inspired by’ whatever.
I TRULY almost tripped and spit my Frappuccino out the first time I saw a younger girl with an orange Goyard STL. I figured mine were the only ones.
Since then I’ve seen two others in my city, and I am amazed. Seriously, it’s pretty unhip here. I don’t mind because it means no one knows mine are worth stealing. But seriously, Michael Kors is the crown prince of Texas.

I think we all probably bag watch. It's the reason we're on this forum, LOL. I mostly see Michael Kors more so than Coach in my area. Brahmin is also very big here as is Dooney. I see Longchamp occasionally, but it is always the Le Pliage. I see Louis Vuitton, actually more lately than I have in the past. What is funny to me is I rarely see Gucci, and we do have a Gucci store that is very close to the Louis Vuitton store. Louis Vuitton stays fairly busy, but when I walk by Gucci there is never anyone in there. That surprises me because Gucci has been gaining in popularity elsewhere lately. Today, for the first time ever, I saw someone carrying a Chanel. I also have only seen one Hermes, a Birkin. Even when we travel, mostly in the Southeast, I rarely see premier designer bags, and it makes me wonder where all the tpf people are, lol. I live about 10 miles from a coastal, major tourist destination city, so it is surprising to not see more designer bags than I do.

I think MK bags are everywhere at the moment due to how they adjusted their pricing (and manufacturing) strategy few years back and the boom they created because of it.
Here in London I see distinctly less and less MK. At the moment it feels its all Gucci.

Yes I'm a hopeless bag watcher. So much so that I've noticed people pull their bags closer and look at me weird. I've even apologized for it!

I live in a Gulf country. With black abayas on women, a handbag is all you can see most of the time. And it’s hard to find a non-designer bag. Lots of mono LVs and classic Chanels. Too many. That’s why I promised to myself to never buy one, it’s like a uniform. Second most popular are probably Birkins and Gucci. Dior and Goyard less. Teenagers carry MK. Housekeepers Coaches, mostly fake I suspect

I love to bag watch! I'm in the Midwest, in an Illinois suburb about an hour southwest of Chicago. Lots of MK & Coach out here, probably because if the outlet mall... but I also see a lot of LV too. Unfortunately, I have seen quite a few fake D&G and Gucci bags.... gaudy, terrible fakes. I have yet to see any other Balenciagas besides mine.

I live in the Midwest and see a lot of Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, and Coach from the contemporary designers. Once in a while I will see Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, and Gucci. But these are rare to see.

I’m from the south and the most expensive I’ve seen is a traditional Chanel in a Cracker Barrel , a Goyard in home goods , a Chloë Marcie in TJ Maxx. , tons of mono LV, and of course traditional coach MK variety. Lots of teens with designer handbags, too.

I am an avid purse watcher!

I’m in a large southern city in the US and I see all kinds of bags. As others have said, it’s mostly MK. Next most popular is LV canvas - especially Neverfuls. Not so many speedys. In fact, I can’t recall the last time I saw one of those in person.

YSL is also pretty popular. Lots of WOC. Chanel jumbo flaps on older ladies 45+. A variety of Gucci bags on younger. Every now and then, I’ll see something interesting like a Celine Belt bag or Loewe Puzzle. But not often enough.

Small and mini shoulder bags are still leading the pack with totes being a close second in popularity.

Honestly, I wish I saw more variety. I love bags so seeing the same ones over and over is disappointing.

Downtown Chicago is a bit better [emoji43]
