Does anyone else bag watch?

I went to the mall today and, naturally, I bag watched. Here were my observations:
  • Michael Kors is by far the most popular brand. I would say about half of the branded bags whose names I recognized as MKs.
  • Coach and Dooney Bourke were the next most popular ones but not even half as popular combined as Michael Kors.
  • There were a few Kate Spades and Calvin Kleins but surprisingly, I saw more Louis Vuittons than either brand.
  • I saw 11 Louis Vuittons.
  • Overall, the biggest surprise was how much more popular MKs were than Coach. Where I grew up (in another state) Coach and Kate Spade were much more common than they are here, although KS was a local to where I grew up. I had never heard of Dooney and knew of MK but not seen all that many (although this was half a decade ago).

I can't stop myself from observing people's bags! Also, when I worked in retail, it was one of my favorite pastimes to look at people's wallets as well. A cheap thrill!

One of the things I've noticed myself doing a lot of is fake watching. I see soooo many fake MK, Mulberry and LV around - women buy most of their fakes from Tallinn, Estonia which is a very popular destination for Finns. Other than that, I don't give MK a second thought and don't consider it designer. It's bulk produce that mostly comprises of stolen designs.

I like to try to spot fakes . Lol! I'm not very good yet but it is still fun to try to look at the little details.
I also don't carry MK or coach but have noticed that they are popular.

I love to people watch, but I haven't paid attention to brands. I did take a look at bags passing by me when I went to buy a new purse last year while out of town. It surprised me that most of the bags I saw were brown.

Bag spotters of the world unite! :drinks: I don't see people anymore, I see bags

I definitely check out bags, and I have been known to strike up conversations with strangers if appropriate. Meaning, I don't chase them down in the street or harass them while eating in restaurants etc, but I will comment on a bag if it's gorgeous if I happen to be sitting next to it waiting for my kids to finish swimming lessons, in a waiting room/line etc. I blame tPF

I thought I saw a Chanel boy and my heart started race because it was so pretty! I got up close and it wasn't a chanel but still very pretty. It reminded me of tpf naturally .Lol!

I was rammed in the back by a huge Chanel Boy at the local pharmacy :amuse: I was waiting in line with my children and instead of just asking us to step aside, the Boy owner literally rammed her bag in my back (which is actually the closest I've ever come to a Chanel Boy :P). After this close Boy encounter of the third kind, I and others in the pharmacy, were lucky enough to be treated to the show put on by this obviously very happy Chanel bag owner as she proceeded to really utilise the space in the pharmacy holding her bag out at half arms length for us all to really see it :amuse:

To be honest, this is how I too feel inside about my own bags, but I do try to keep the bag pride and love slightly more contained

This made my morning. I love the sarcastic undertone !
Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bump you with my new bag! But since I did, why not have a look at it in all its Glory! LMAO!

All joking aside though, I would've been drooling at the bag. I want one terribly but can't spend that much right now and I'm not willing to put it on a credit card so I'll have to wait...
