Hi Doc!
I am thinking to get a pre-loved Lindy in Ultra-violet or Raisin color (coz I love purple!) however, there’s a patch of discoloration at the back of the bag where the Lindy folds, and also all 4 corners.
Can you advise if such discolorations can be restored by H spa?

And in your opinion, is the purple color hard to care for, ie. easily discolored? Coz I saw a few listings for ultra-violet Lindy, but all have discolorations despite being less than 10-year-old bags.

Hey there,
I have been told Hermes doesn't generally recolor handles , touch up color in the middle of a panel or work on cleaning the bag's interior , but you can always ask them and see it could be a case by case basis.
In the hands of a trusted Luxury Bag restorer these areas would be color restored.
Regarding the color loss on this leather type and of this color ... I dont have any particular information about it, you have noticed something and it could be a trend.
I hope that was helpful?
All the best,doc

Hi Doc !
There is currently a Nouméa I could purchase for a veeeery low price.
It seems to have been against all odds ^^
To my eye the leather looks on good condition except its color, which seems to have been originally a beige like it remains under the closure.
In your opinion:
- might the H spa save such a desperate item ?
- should I rather go to a specialized cobbler who will color it black, maybe navy or forest green
- should I rather give up ?

Thank you !

Hello there!
Well here is a bag that could use some TLC its in a sad cosmetic state in deed ( looks functionally fine though I agree with you). So , if you are anything like me and I do suspect you might be you want to adopt bags and homeless stray animals?
Lets get too it... do you actually like the bags shape and would you use it?
Hermes might take it in for spa , but to me it looks badly stained so a leaning is not going to change color by much if anything ...
To take the bag to a cobbler for redye? Maybe? I just think that if you go that route you want to make sure you dont end up with a painted looking bag.. then all the luxury might be lost. So if you love the bag, you'll use it and know someone great to restore it... then go for it.
If you just feel sorry for the bag... then just adopt it clean it up and let it be a cool old vintage original Hermes bag that's not groady dirty or gross....and then revisit what to do next?
I hope that helps?
All the best! to we birds of a feather...?

Well hey there,
Yes you bet you can sure get color transfer from your jeans to your lighter colored bags. Actually wash your jeans in a vinegar wash can set the dye and help keep the color transfer from happening in the first place. And You can apply protection lotion to your bag to help keep the leather fro absorbing the dye transfer and you can get some leather wipes to have on hand when it occurs to quickly remove the dye transfer. Enjoy your beautiful bag with confidence!
I hope this helps?
Hugs,doc
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!! I will def look into washing my jeans...that would open up a lot of possible colors I would be willing to try!

I will look through your thread for your advice on types of lotion to protect the bag too.

thank you again! ☺️

Dear @docride, I came across this bordeaux halzan and the seller says there are 2mm peeling spots that appear white on the front to the right of the handle and towards the bottom. I have attached photos and the ebay listing. Do you think these are repairable and do you think it is worth $5400 (his offer to me).

Thank you so much for your advice!Screenshot_20200802-114131_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20200802-114523_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20200802-114121_eBay.jpg

Hi there
Those little spots looks repairable to me. It’s a beautiful bag. Looks like recently sold Halzan bags have sold bow the price you have been given but maybe those were in more worn or poor condition.
I hope that helps ?
All the best doc

Thank you so much for the reply! I haven't seen a Halzan in bordeaux on the 2nd hand market before so I was so excited! (It is my favorite color!).
Is the peeling something I should be concerned that will continue throughout the bag or do you think it was likely a result of abrasion?

Hi again,
This Kelly is a cool classic, please lets evaluated the handle and the handle base pads the area where the D ring attached to the handle and to the handle base pads... any tears? Cracks?
I'll check back ....
All the best,doc
Hi Doc

Thank you for replying. After checking all the photos, I can't see cracks or tears on the handle base pads. However, the pictures are not really clear. I can see very dry leather on the flap. Do you think the spa can help with the dryness? The price of the bag is $4,000 (no strap) not sure if that is a fair price.

Hi There,
A classic constance ... is a wonderful Iconic bag to aquire, I want you to get the best bag for your budget. I wish I could get a a full front and full back photo... are you choosing between these two bags or wanting them both? Im not quite sure. Some light scratches don't worry me in particular. The cracking strap ... might be a problem but evaluate the other side as well its two pieces of leather stitched together.
I'll check back
doc
Hi Doc

Sorry for the late reply. I actually thinking to buy both of the bag. The price for the constance is $4,700. Do you think it's fair with such condition? I will try to get a full front and full back photo of the bag from the seller. Thank you so much for your reply.
