Do you wear your diamond studs?

Martini setting for sure. They appear to float on your ear lobe. The 3 prong martini setting is maybe the most common, but I actually have the 8 prong martini setting. The 8 prongs are super delicate, even less obvious than the 3 prong setting. You can't even see them and they really emphasize the roundness of the stone (if that makes sense lol).

I second, third and fourth martini settings. I wear mine everyday. I never take them off to wear anything else! I've had them in for about 5 years and clean them in the jewelry cleaner once a week. 1.75ct each ear, martini set, of course.

I'm going to get 2 carats tcw. White gold or platinum?

My jeweler convinced me to get WG over Plat. Told me the threads of Plat. posts will wear/ push and not last as long.. Not sure if you were thinking screw backs though... I've never had a problem with my other Plat. threaded earrings, but I don't wear any of them daily.

(Ugh. just counted - I have 4 pair of diamond studs (different sizes) and still don't wear them daily. My largest, 2ctw are in a 3 prong martini. They're comfortable and show off the stones nicely. Clearly I'm not a diamond stud earring person.)

I can't help you with settings, but I strongly believe that every woman should have a pair of diamond stud earrings! Mine used to belong to my grandmother, so they are in an unusual six-prong basket setting, and the diamond sits kind of high up. At first I didn't like the setting, but then I realized how unusual it is, and I love things that are a little bit different!

I wear my diamond studs more than any other pair of earrings, with all different kinds of outfits. It's one of the few things on this earth that can go anywhere, with anything, and fit right in while also standing out.

Could you post pics of the 8 prongs martini? I've never seen them irl but the 3 prongs, very interesting to know

Definately get the martini setting! I wanted the 3 prong but because of size my jeweler insisted on 4 prong. Since you've decided on 2 tcw diamonds...a carat each year is the perfect size for a 3 prong setting. Just perfect! Also look into getting the elephant backs...they keep the studs facing-up nicely and can be used with all your post type earrings.
I think either plat or WG is just a matter of taste. I chose WG because it matched my other jewelry.
How exciting!!!

I wear mine everyday and don't take them out except to clean them. I feel naked without them. I find they are the easiest to pair with the greatest majority of outfits for my face shape (I have a round face and I hate the way most dangly earrings and hoops look on me). I hadn't worn earrings in 2-3 years on any regular basis prior to getting these. Maybe you could borrow a friends pair or get a cheap pair in the size and style you're looking at to try out first before making a big purchase (and then possibly deciding you don't like them, etc.)?
