^Lovely! I really love a good dark garnet. I had a pair of garnet earrings when I was younger that my mother had chosen for me.

My birthstone is peridot (August) but I haven't found a ring that I liked enough. I imagine a large cartier- or european-cut set in yellow gold would be nice.... just never came across one large enough.

Thanks! Yep it took me forever to find that one, too. When you find your ring do post a pc here!

Nope... I was born in July (Ruby) and have never owned a genuine ruby. My grandmother purchased a synthetic ruby for me when I was a child, but it was more of a pink-red color and cracked after several years. I never replaced it with another ruby, mostly because I never found a ruby piece that was simple and classy enough for me (while still remaining in my price range).

My nose piercing is an opal on the other side. The conch piercing is a cluster of opals and my 2nd hole piercings are 14 gauge labrets with opal so they never come out either. October baby, here :) I have a lovely opal and blue topaz necklace (my son's birthstone) but I prefer to wear my Tiffany pieces on a regular basis. I also have opal rings I never wear because I'm rough with my hands and already chipped one stone. :(
