I'm a January baby and for the longest time I'd been searching high and low for a really deep blood red garnet jewelry item that I can wear every day. Last year I finally found them in these two - a simple solitaire garnet ring and a bead bracelet. While I don't wear them every day (so many to rotate!) I do wear them a lot.

I'd love to see if you have any jewelry set with your birthstone!

When I was younger, I always heard that turquoise was December's birthstone, and I HATED turquoise. Then later on I heard that blue topaz and perhaps even tanzanite would count. But unfortunately the only blue stone I am very fond of is aquamarine, and even so, it isn't my favourite.

But I have two April babies, so I indulge in their birthstone instead!

Your ring and bracelet are beautiful!

Thank you :smile1:

LOL I'd hate it if I hated my birthstone - very happy that I do like garnet - but it has to be the deep dark kind, which was why it was so hard for me to find garnet jewelry that I liked. The deep red kinds were always out of my price range when I did find them. I was so happy when I found these two.

Hah! Who doesn't like diamonds :giggles:

I'm an April baby! So diamonds are my birthstones and it's also my favorite precious gem too. I've never really like other colored stones but I do hold exceptions if they are timeless pieces. Diamonds will never go out of fashion and can match with even the worst outfit from your closet, and you can make it fancy without adding too much to it and very simple as well. Plus, they sparkle like no others!

That's so interesting, I always heard December's was aquamarine and unfortunately I'm not a fan of that - I could maybe get into turquoise, a little :thinkin:

Another garnet here.... i love that garnet comes in multiple colors! I also tend to like garnet in cabochons instead of cut gemstones. DS is also an April baby, so yay for diamonds!

March's is aquamarine or bloodstone and I have an aquamarine pendant set in YG, love the gemstone but not too keen on the setting. I haven't got round to changing it yet but will do at some point as I love the idea of wearing it.

Your ring and bracelet are very pretty! I absolutely love garnet, it isn't my birthstone but my Italian grandmother had a beautiful garnet fancy ring which has been passed down to me and I think the colour is so beautiful!

Actually, when my best friend had her second child (and first daughter) last year, I bought her earrings with her daughter's birthstone (pearls). Lucky she didnt have an April baby though! It's a great idea (if not just a reason to buy more diamonds, like a reason is needed :graucho:)

I make a habit of not buying the baby a gift (until later) when born, and only buy a gift for the (always forgotten) mother. It is always the most appreciated gift of any occasion and such a pleasure to be able to do so, especially since its something a bit luxe like a beautiful robe or earrings or something.

I was born in july. When I was in middle school i used to wear my birthstone all the time, but i haven't worn rubies in at least 10 years. i just dont like the color anymore.

I hate mine, it's peridot, so no, even though I've been given a ring I never wear it.

Another January baby checking in! I can't believe how many of us there are here. :smile1:

Yes, I adore garnets and wear them a lot. I love that they come in a variety of colors and are so versatile. And relatively inexpensive, too, which is important for me.

Beautiful garnet ring and bracelet! My birthstone is emerald, I have one tiny pendant with it, should wear it more.

My kids are blue sapphire and diamond. I have an eternity band and pendant with those that I wear quite often.

I'm December born and I love my turquoise! I find it the happiest color of all. If having a bad day, a pop of turquoise always helps. I've always wondered if this is because it's MY birthstone.
