Why am I not surprised, dear sister?
Agree- this is a dreamy summer blue for Hawaii or topical islands
Ir days at the lake or weekends at the beach
In the casual large Birkin size she is just the bag for vacation and holidays
Love this color SO MUCH!

It's another happy color, and so far has traveled all around the East Coast with no trouble. :smile1:

Any comments I get are about the color, not the style, so it's easy to travel with.

Hi dear tPFs! I have another question about traveling experiences with a B. I hope anyone can help me!
I am visiting Rome this year, and wanted to bring my B. Is Rome safe enough for a B? I am not planning to do late night sightseeing. And I know how to use common sense in general. Bringing another bag, however, is really not my favorite solution as I am very attached in using my B.
Thanks!

I used mine in Rome without any problems. However, please do watch out when travelling on public transport or crowded places. A little story as a word of warning; I guess it applies to all countries when travelling, but this did happen in Rome:
My parents were visiting Rome with friends a few years ago, they were all trying to get on a bus, but because the bus was so crowded, my parents' friends said they would catch the next one. Whilst my parents were standing on the very crowded bus,
my dad went to put his hand in his pocket and thought it a bit strange that his wallet was quite high up in his pocket. He pushed it down but didn't think too much more of it. A few minutes later he again put his hand in his pocket and again the wallet had mysteriously ridden up. He pushed it down again. A few minutes later he put his hand in his pocket again to find there was already a hand in there! He said it was the most tiny child-like hand and he couldn't feel anything! He shouted to warn the perpetrator off, but it was just as the bus stopped and the prospective thief ran off the bus with an accomplice who had been standing close by, whom my mum had clocked exchanging glances with the other one. They feel that the wallet would have been quickly passed to the other person, so that if you accused the person nearest you, he would not be found to be in possession of the stolen goods. Other people on the bus just thought my dad was a mad Englishman shouting out as nobody had seen what was going on, and because neither of them speak Italian they couldn't explain!

Thanks for sharing!
Yes common sense is super important, especially in so crowded places as in Rome!
While there, I always kept my belongings very close to me, especially when using the bus or the metro. The passengers really bump into each other when entering or leaving public transportation! And once, while I was travelling on the metro, an Italian woman came in and was saying something in Italian, while pointing outside the train. I think she got almost stolen at the station.

I didn't use to, and I still wouldn't take my Kellys, but I did with an Evelyne and Garden Party. I purposefully bought a pre-owned GP, so I wouldn't feel bad to use it for traveling.

When I was traveling from Rome to Paris a few months ago, this mature lady who was on my flight had a Gris T (or something very light gray/cream color) Birkin 35 placed on top of her carry on (with the B handles slipped over the carry on handle). Mind you, it was a 2 wheel carry on luggage, so she had to drag it at an angle, and the B was wide open like she could care less about it. It was obviously a well loved (used) B, as it looked deliciously slouchy. This woman was the epitome of Parisian casual chic! She was one of the reasons I started to seriously consider getting a B.

Many years ago I had my LV trolley removed from my above overhead bin without my knowledge, luckily I noticed it righ away after returning from the lavatory! apparently my across passenger (or the flight attendant) decided to put his luggage inside instead ... I caught the flight attendant took my trolley all the way to the back side of the aircraft (I was seating at the first row).... I almost did this. :lecture: to the guy across from me...

Since then, I quit flying with that aircraft and upgraded my flights to different seat class.

Well, I do look forward traveling with my B on my next business trip .... But I refuse to put it in the overhead bin, and I will use dust bag for more protection and place it under my seat.

I have not traveled yet with my new Birkin but I have traveled many times with my Bottega Veneta cabats. I put the sleeper bag inside the cabat and then on the plane I put my cabat in the bag and under the seat in front of me. I usually travel business class so there's enough room for a large bag. So far I've never had an issue. I can also put it in the sleeper bag in the container on the security belt. I use and enjoy my bags, and I plan to do the same with my B.
